If u see an advantage with the new devices go for it. For using camera in a dim place - N86, N97 and all the N-series palette together cannot compete with N82. Just my opinion though, so i'll stick with the device cause it's really exactly what i need. If you're into new gadgets and don't need xenon you should definitely upgrade:) Regards!

I found a short battery backup of my N82. But surprisingly when i charged it with the charger of my old N73, the backup increased. I don't know why.

Infact, I've read somewhere that N97 takes better pics even with early firmware version than N82 in daylight. N85, in the latest v30 fw, has more accurate color reproduction than both N82 and N95. More reasons to upgrade to FP2 or S60v5 phones apart from the software itself are much better sonic experience, much longer battery life, better design and OVI service integration. N82 and N95 both have superb hardware but the software makes them look and feel ancient. That's why I'm looking forward to upgrade to N86.

Just for a few transitions and a little bling bling i'm not willing to buy a new device:) But that's just me:) If you see added value in the new devices go for it! Regards!

Nokia will never use windows mobile...ever, if u don't know why, than i can't help u either. It's like an Intel processor running on AMD chipset, or Apple selling Mac's with Windows preinstalled:)Regards and please stop posting bull****
When it comes to hardware, N82 is still on par or even above par with the latest phones from Nokia. But when it comes to software, N82 is way behind. Comparing S60v3 FP1 with S60v3 FP2 is like comparing Windows XP with Windows 7. S60v5 is the touch-based version of S60v3 FP2. Is there a reason for N82 or N95 users to upgrade to Nokia's latest S60 phones? Yes! The S60v3 FP2 or S60v5 user interface alone is one big reason. It's like heaven, and S60v3 FP1, earth.
Hello everyone. I would like to say that this is currently the best Phone that I have ever owned. I have been a loyal nokia user. I used to have the 3310, 5210, 3330,7610, 6680, 5300 and finally the n82. This phone is truly amazing. It takes very good pictures with the help of it's xenon flash. My phone is very sexy in black. I have used this phone since October 2009 and I have encountered no problems with v30 firmware. Although I wished that the screen would be bigger and a more decent keypad. But nothing is perfect in the world. Hopefully I am going to get the n86 soon.
PS: is there any more firmware undated for this phone? If there is, is it good to update.

I'm happy with the battery life of N82. When I use it for texting and occasional browsing, it gets me through 2 days. Gaming and taking pictures are what depletes the battery a lot faster than web browsing. From a full charge, it will only last 4 hours when used for Ngage gaming. I think the processor is having a very heavy duty in Ngage gaming. Standby time, though I haven't tested it a lot, seems to be long also. From 1 bar left, it takes about 2 to 3 hours for the battery to be totally empty. Btw, I'm using a new battery.
