wow, i love the phone and its features...the small buttons are not a problem for me.This phone really makes me excited and i cant stop playing with it,and its been over 4mnths since i bought it.

If you're not keen to jump on the touschreen wagion, then N82 is still top. Not even newer phones like N85, N96 and N86 8mp don't have significant advantages over N82.If u want a fully equipped excellent imaging smartphone this is the one to get. I heard that Nokia is making a 12mp full-imaging device, but it won't be out till 2010, if even that. So enjoy it all.
This year i haven't seen any good replacement for N82 so i'll stick with it for another year! If someone disagrees, i dare them to give me an alternative phone with this features: smartphone (symbian), 5mp or more, xenon flash, gps, auto-rotate, support for microsd up to 16gb..... that can actually be bought.Regards!
I bought N82 after careful searching on so many GSM Arena pages and I'm so happy with the phone. If you want candybar stuff, this is the best. Unfortunately for you who want to getting it, not so easy anymore. Nokia has discontinue this phone on some countries including mine. If you see the specs of the newest version Nokia phone, nothing exceed this one, even though N82 has circulated for more than 2 years. Some like N79 which Nokia wants as a replacement, is not as good as this one. Awesome!
yes..it's qiut comfortable when u texting..although the key pad is quit small but the space within it make ur finger automatically will not press wrong button.. but if u texting in hurry, it take time.. for, i can texting without even looking at the keypad.. overall, n82 is among the best nseries.

It could be that i'm blind and can't see the difference between a good and a bad picture, but i highly doubt that all the people on the internet are blind and also the experts which gave N82 the best mobile imaging device award in 2008 in Europe (TIPA). If you're dissapointed don't try to persuade us in thinking the same:)Regards!

I can;t tell how many times i had this exchange at a cellphone seller's "does this phone have a good camera? Yes, X megapixels".
5 Mpixels or 25Mpixels don't do any good if all those pixels distort the picture. And N82 distorts too much by every parameter - lens geometry, color temperature, contrast, color saturation. I'm comparing images to my previous camera, a 1.3 MP samsung, and it's worse.

Try turning off the 3G - opt for 'GSM' in the phone connection settings - and of course make sure you close all applications when you've finished with them. This way, mine lasts 2 days!

I've had mine a month, after reading all the phone reviews here. Very impressed. It's got an 8GB card inside no problem. I've read that it has the updated firmware that will take up to 32GB - but I can't afford to try it! Camera is great - except (as with all cameraphones) it's so light that hand shake, not resolution, is the problem. Music player is excellent (not quite as good as an ipod, side by side, but good nevertheless - and the 3.5mm jack output makes life so easy. Wireless internet access no problem, GPS seems to be OK - I don't really use it. The buttons are a bit fiddly, but alot better than some. I have had PROBLEMS using Music Player to download music - it just won't see the phone. I gave up and just accessed the card directly as if it were an external drive. Battery life is good - more than one days work - but if you turn of 3G (opt for GSM in phone connections), it's great - two full days! What I wanted was a portable music player, phone, internet access machine with a good camera and picture player - and it does all those things really well - and it's not expensive. I'm happy.

I use Handy Shell plug-in, so i don't need menu button anyway:)Regards!

Perhaps you didn\t make adjustments on the camera. if you'll actually look on the comparisons between N82, innov8, n97 and N86, the pictures of N82s are actually better for me overall.
Kyril, 08 Jul 2009I set out to buy the best phone camera available on the market, and I bought my N82 based in p... moreHmm..that's interesting. I Think there is no phone in this league that makes that kind of photos, especially in poor light conditions. If u compare it with standalone cameras you'll be dissapointed ofcourse, but then again you can't expect a phone to replace 500€ worth device and cost like 300€ plus still being a phone, a gps device, an audio/video player. But maybe you should buy a standalone camera and use it as a phone. I wonder how that would work:)))
In my opinion and opinion of many users on the internet, N82 is the best camera-smartphone today. N86 might have a better angle but sucks in low light. So sorry to say - but there's something wrong with your standards! I'm willing to take up my N82 with the entire Nokia N-Series palette and even with any other brand's best cameraphones:) But check out the link i posted a few posts back:)

I set out to buy the best phone camera available on the market, and I bought my N82 based in part on many reviews I read here.
Big mistake. Huge disappointment. I should have comparison-tested.
There is nothing right with this phone's camera, not a thing. The optics of the Zeiss lens are probably good, I don't have a lab at my disposal to micro-analyze the optical and spectral reproduction.
But to my (trained) naked eye - the entire camera aspect of the N82 is a massive failure. It's as if Nokia had a good intention of creating a compact digital camera equivalent, and approached one of the better camera lens makers of the world, Zeiss , who in turn arrogantly decided to screw the phone people by dumping one of their most unfortunate lens designs on them. And then Nokia outsourced the software and driver writing for the camera to the cheapest source they could find, and pay only for the most primitive algorithms.
- 2/3rds of the image is unnecessarily wide angle - distorted. It's not a security camera people.
- the color temperature metering is ALWAYS off. i tried indoors/outdoors/sunny/cloudy/bright/low light. no scenario is ever close to the actual color.
- auto-focus metering just focuses at 1.5 meters or farther out, regardless of what's smiling in front of it's red beam.
- highlights are always blown out. Again, Nokia must have subcontracted some security-camera people to do this.
- color saturation and contrast too distorted.
- image compression is too lossy.
This is just embarrassing for Nokia. And I haven't even started on the rest of the phone - the usability and UI design and User experience, as compared to the better american and asian designs, is just medieval.
What were you thinking, Nokia?
