I would like to use the N82 with an 8GB SD card full of songs as an mp3 player.
I have read that many people have put an 8GB Sandisk mini SDHC card into the unit and it has worked, though some say it will not recognize the card and others say it will slow the processor down.
But one person said, when the card was half full of songs, 4 or 5GB used, the alarm tone alert functions were not working properly.
I need someone to put an 8GB card full of MP3's into the phone and then check to see if the calendar, alarm, mp3 ringing tones all work properly(check if the sounds can be changed and see if the phone works properly).
Then I can rest assured this is the phone I need to buy. And after we buy the 8GB card this phone is about the same price as an N95 8GB, but I still like the removeable memory.

Hello,, i started my looped mp3 non stop in theses conditions,,
gsm mode..
full power backlight but backlight is off during mp3 playback except for occasional battery check..
bluetooth off..
wi-fi off..
volume 90% with equaliser settings i stated in post about a week back i.e. bass up 6 notches,,second from left fully down ,,treble full,,midrange about 5 notches up..
I started at 3pm and by midnight was at one bar (9hrs)but needed to get it on charge for work tomorrow so decided to flatten it because i am only on 5th full charge/discharge cycle that i do with every new fone to get best battery power..So i flattened it by taking 5 meggapixel photos with xenon flash on.......52 potos it took to flatten the n82 battery which seemed never ending...
Tommorow "friday" i am going away for the day and going to do a mini report on a full days use starting with full charge at 7am..This will be my 7th charge/full discharge but on the whole its pretty strong battery and under medium usage got 3 days but i cannot understand why people bother about how many days it lasts...Everybody gets home at night OR a hotel where they can charge the n82,,all i want is a phone that under heavy usage will last the day..you just stick it on charge at night it wont explode it just cuts off supply when battery is full..Brilliant phone with huge potential and with nothing new in nokias range beating this the n82 will be around for a while,,the only threat is s/e xperia beast but thats a way off yet......

hi.. im about to upgrade my mobile phone to N82.. my only concern for nokia phones is the batt life ever since.. so, can anyone tell me your experience about this phone when using it to watch youtube, or listening to music? how many hours can i use it when im using apps or capturing videos?
or can you tell the overall rate of the batt life of this wonderful mobile phone?

If anyone wants to upgrade from N73, I’ll suggest that if u have the budget go for N82 but if u don’t have the budget then wait and go for N78, which I think will have lower price.

Before I'd start I'd like to say that I owned the N73 and now I have the N82.
for all those who are asking for the comparison between the N73 and the N82 the music volume of the N73 is far louder compared to the N82. But the N82 has more options for customizations than the N73. But i'll prefer the music of the N73. When it comes to the headsets, you can use any 3.5mm headset that is available (which is the standard headset used by many music brands)unlike the N73 which uses the pop-port of the phone. When it comes to the camera, with the 5mp equipped and the xenon flash, the N82 wins over the N73. The N82 also has lot more features than the N73 including the GPS, etc.
I think I made a good decision when I upgraded mine to this phone...

i rilly rilly l0ve my n82. i can watch youtube, surf d net and chat using fring at the same time.. U can downl0ad games and softwares for free at mosh.com.ph.. if s0me1 wants 2 buy a new f0ne, u w0nt regret ds 1!

Does N82 black have come to the market yet? Did anyone see it in a shop or bought it? Can anyone confirm this, no matter which country u live. Thx in advance.
Almost all the websites have delayed it to April 18 or March 10. I’m losing my patient.

AFAIK, N82 key pad looks like N91 but it functions far far more better than N91. So don't worry.

if its a sucessor of n73 hw cum it hs keypad like that of n91 bt nt n73 , n73 keypad much better than n91

Someone here announced that n82 black is now available here in the philippines.. are you sure? what store sells it? I have been told by a contact from nokia philippines that there is a great chance that it will not be released here because they are not getting any advisories regarding deliveries until this moment.
