i think it's just an update on their previous review published last November 28, 2007 in english version. Russian review now has a picture comparison with other devices (N95 & K850i). I'm sure the english version will be out soon.

mobile-review.com has released the russian review of N82. The translated version is
http://translate.google.com/tr...n%26hs%3DkuL
Though the translation is not so good, it conveys the message that N82 is a superior phone.

Hi friends
Regarding the hanging and restarting issue...
As I mentioned earlier, it is not an annoying every day problem, It just happens once in while -
When you connect normal headphones and the phone ask for the enhancement option
Camera application sometimes ask you to restart the phone. I found out a fact that the camera application is always open as a system application and stay in the RAM.
THat is why the camera application starts instantly after we open the lens conver.
Hopefully, even the small problems will be solved in the first firmware update itself.
Nokia really made a good phone, which will make you be very happy after the purchase.
I'm from India and I've bought the phone from a retail outlet not from the carier.
thanks

Ive been using it over a month now. Im LOVIN it. The only problem for ME is that its 3gp video capturing is limited at 33 seconds or something. i want to capture small sized clips for a couple of minutes and in high quality it ends up capturing a few tens of MB's :'(
Other than that, if given the choice of buying one again, id buy it in a heartbeat!

Sorry, my thanks below were meant for Rakib. But thanks for the other comments, too. The phone itself may be solid, sure, but the d-pad/navigation ring does not seem to be so.

In regards to the hanging/restarting issue:
I really think that must be a firmware issue on a limited number of n82's, because mine has never hung or restarted, after 2 months of use. It may also have something to do with having large capacity memory cards in the phone, but I have an 8gb card in mine and it's still fine. I have 2 other friends who have n82's, and theirs have never hung or restarted either. I also have a couple friends with n95's (an n95-3 and an 8gb) and theirs have never hung or restarted either.
I'm curious, those of you who have had hanging/restarting problems: Have you purchased your n82's/n95's through your service provider? Or have you purchased them through an independent dealer of unlocked mobiles?
I only wonder because I have been noticing a strong trend between phone/firmware issues and service provider's models, whereas those purchasing from independent, non-service affiliated companies rarely seem to have these issues.

Hi Friends
I'm using N82 for a week now. I have changed from N95 8GB TO N82. As I've used both, i hope my comments will be usefull for you guys.
About N95 8GB
Lovely phone, all features, sliding quality and battery life are perfect. Screen size and quality - awesome. BUT, without Lens Cover, its realy scary that you tend spend more time to take care of the phone rather than using the phone - being such an expensive phone. Black casing attracts dirt very very fast, it realy pains to see your expensive phone gets dirty. Finaly I gave up and went to N82.
Now the real story begins...
Its a solid solid phone - no questions on build quality. It feels very solid in hand. All the keys are very fine to use - onlythings is some people will take some time to get used to it, because it's little tough. The screen size deifference fron N95 8GB realy dont bother me untill unless i compare both side by side.
I agree that there's a need for little more brightness for the screen.
All operations are just fast, all happens in seconds - no problem at all.
Xenon flash realy ROCKS. Battery life is very decent (about 1 - 1.5 days after heavy usage)
Sometimes it get hang and restarts, the camera stopped working all that - very very few times. But this stablity issue hopefully will be addressed in the firmware update.
For people who are very much converned about the money they on their phone = N82 is the ideal choice.
thanks

Thanks, Savor, good to read about speakers! The photos, especially ones with the Xenon flash, would beat even some digital cameras (sans optical zoom, true, though)! What about the stability of the d-pad, anyone? It appears a little loose/wobbly. Exact response, though, but how about usage in the long run?

I think it's time for me to flip a coin and let faith decide on which phone i should get, either the N82 or N95-8gb....for those sharing my dillema, it's obvious that we should waite for a Nokia phone that has the screen size and brightness of the N95-8gb and the xenon flash with camera cover of the N82...Up to this time, I have no more use on reading each others thread, believe me I already read all of what the other has to say on this site. (don't believe me?)Well I know for a fact that St_gorge, Junkyskunky, father vince provided the most helpfull review, advice regarding the phones. I had to follow on what they had to say co'z I too am Filipino.
Anyway, until I see such a phone from Nokia....I'll keep my fingers crossed!
Special tnx to those mentioned above, though it did not make me decide which unit to get, it made me know which phone I should be looking forward to from nokia!.
So for all those flipping coins and still deciding, I think we should be more patient and waite on what nokia has yet to offer, besides this year just started!
Cheers to all Nokia users!
