n82 loudspeaker is not as loud as in n95 but nervertheless its still good specially with earpones.
n82 housing/casing is made from hard aluminum i think (i cant really tell) faceplate front and back are made from hard plastic, i think housing/casing of n82 can be change or replace just like almost all nokia phones whis is good specially wen u drop or scratch ur unit, a good quality housing/casing can be a good replacement just hope they dont make fancy housing/casing with desing that make the unit cheap lol

Wish the d-pad was thicker. Thumb can cramp up since it hits edge. Would prefer joystick or nav wheel. Pressing #2, 4, 6, n 8 helps a bit for the net. I do like the one-hand browsing. iPhone cant achieve this. A thinner width is often overlooked vs a thinner depth. Just adding themes and a ton of animated pix from HoFo as screensavers. Still luv it. So many ways to customize an S60.

@ fathervince
thanks for the info. will try it today. however, hope it works as im from asia and they say the firmware is not available for asian handsets... gee what a rip off.
there are a lot of heroes here who lambasted the N82. i wonder if they even own the N82?
pathetic. the only other forum i went to was the 6233 and i had nothing but good things for the phone, although it was super ugly but it was durable and sturdy. i use that now as my 2nd phone.
have a nice day all

A few notes before updating your firmware:
1. Backup your phone memory using Content Copier
2. Restore your phone data/settings after the update since the application shortcuts will be deleted even if the you installed them in the memory card.
Note: UDP seems to work now and unlike in my previous Nokia S60 software updates stuff such as text messages, contacts, custom settings and even downloaded themes remained on my N82 after the update so there's no need for reinstallation of themes and apps as well as restoration of other files.
;)

Kabayan, I am now running on firmware version 11.0.177. So far so good.

Kabayan! I do have the latest version of software updater on my pc. Everytime I run the application on my laptop its says device is not supported lolz I was even able to update the firmware of my friend's N92 on my laptop. That is kinda weird really.
Thanks kabayan!

Kabayan! V11 is already available on our product code. I tested it the other day and it shows the new version, but i don't upgrade it, i usually let the Nokia Service Center do it for me. Maybe you don't have the latest Nokia Software Updater on your pc.

@mw4@,
I owned an N95 8GB for 53 days and frankly despite efforts to match the picture output quality of the N82. I sold my N95 8GB and got an N82 and I have n regrets whatsover. I think your rating of 9 for the N95-2's pic output is too high. Even an 8 would be generous already. No doubt the N82 owns the cameraphone crown as of the moment.
Again, I am basing my comments on actual experience not online reviews. ;)
As for the firmware version 11.0.177 for the N82 it is not available yet to Asian versions and is limited to European-made versions. That's too bad coz Nokia has been screwing Asian users for quite some time now and in fact even the latest firware for the N95 8GB was limited to Euro versions only as well. :(
