@karl

Just run the Setting Wizard application that is located at the Menu>Tools>Utilities>

It will automatically configure your operator settings.

Good Luck!

Hello pips! I finally got mine today! Not just so long ago I was flipping coins between the N95-2 or this baby. The reasons why I chose this other than the other are simply because of the fact that the features offered here is the same as the N95-2. (well correct me if i'm wrong). Onother fact is that this N82 has xenon flash and a camera lens cover. Not to mention the price, here in Manila the average price range difference of these phones is around 9,000 pesos, for that amount you could buy another bnew mid range phone from nokia. So for those still whining or deciding what to get between N82 or N95-8gb, my strong advice is to get this phone...you will have all the features found in the N95-8gb...plus a xenon flush...plus a camera lens cover...plus the option to get a higher capacity memory card...and for the most important plus....the extra money you save to purchase the next nokia phone in the future that will obviously top these two models!!!

Anyway, i've been transferring files to my new phone lately. Does any one here know how to create a sub folder where you can transfer your videos like a folder that just appears rather than showing a preview of what your videos are when opening "Images & videos" on the menu?

Mga kababyan ko, any insights???

@shiver

Q: usually, where do they announce the firmware update?
A: install the latest Nokia PC Suite on your PC then click the update phone software icon. if you haven't installed the Nokia Software updater yet then you will be told to do so, download and install. After the installation, connect your phone to your pc using the nokia connectivity cable then run the application, you don't have to finish the whole update process, just check if you're phone has the latest firmware.

Q: for the emtube, i have looked at it and trying to figure out how to put it on the mobile. any hints?
A: if you have already installed Nokia PC Suite on your pc then just click the .sis file that you have just saved on your desktop then follow the instructions on your pc screen and at your phone. After installation the application will be found at the applications folder.

Q: also, i hear putting on non-nokia/symbian software may crash the phone OS? is it true?
A: NOP! Not on our N82. I have installed a lot of applications already and my phone still performs flawless.

Good Luck!

n95 and n82 are virtuly same.. except tht n95 has biger screen to b exact .2 inch biger.. n82 has more ram, xenon flash , candy bar and is slim :p .. if u like sliders and a bit biger screen and few good multimedia keys then go for n95 and if u like candybars and if u like to stuff apps in ur mobile then go for n82.. and ofcourse n82 is king of mobile photography :)

if you're going to ask me, of course N82! Tried and Tested. But i don't want to be bias here, that's why i'll give you a link (a forum actually) that has an on-going debate on who's the best between N82 & N95 8GB. Good Luck!

@shiver

We can't watch youtube movies yet directly from our phone coz it doesn't have flash lite 3, but future firmware upgrade will do. In the meantime you can use the application called emTube.

Here's the link for download:

Thanks to symbian-freak. Enjoy!

To nokia recycler, roger and all those who keep on saying that N82 crashes, hangs, restarts and etc. I think this are the nokia phones that you are using and not the superior N82.

Why don't you just come out of your cave and buy a new one. BTW, link picture taken by my silver snapper N82.

@Savor

The real problem here is some people are looking for the ultimate perfect phone. There is no such thing coz even Steve Jobs' very famous Macs have their own share of glitches. Let us be realistic and factual here and biases towards other brands aren't too welcome here. Again, this is supposed to be a review thread not a Nokia bashing forum. ;)

@ Raydon

To answer your two questions:
You can use MicroSDHC cards, so capacity can go up to 16GB.
You cannot use the Xenon flash as a "light" or torch due to the way xenon lights work. They cannot continually burn for an extended period of time without a constant power source. Short answer, there is no "flashlight" ability.
