To the person who said that N82 mp3 player is crap, sorry I truly do not share your opinion. The mp3 player that comes with N82 is comparable to my iPod Touch. It has fantastic sounds and the bass sound very tight, at least with my $99 headsets. I also use Jabra stereo bluetooth headset (8010)and it sound great: clear and rich. There is nothing wrong with this phone. I will agree with some people who said that aethestically it does not look appealing, but I did not buy it for its sex appeal; I bought it for its feature sets. Yes it sometimes can hang on certain applications, but then I do not know of any phones that do not hang ever (there is no such thing as a perfect embedded control software). Software is made by humans and humans make mistakes.
On another note regarding its camera, I have to admit that it takes very good pictures if the user intends the camera function to be point-and-shoot. Its image quality is comparable to my Nikon 8700. It is not meant to compete with Nikon D70 DSLR camera. I did not try the N82 GPS functions so that will come later; however, I did not buy this phone for GPS feature (I have a stand alone that does this job very well). I really bought it for the extended features besides GPS. The phone will accept 8Gb SD cards just fine. I have zero complaints about the phone because I am realistic. There is no perfect phones in the market (I don't care who makes it) whether it is Europeans, Amercans or Asians. I bought my phone from www.mobilecityonline.com, and they are wonderful folks to deal with. I buy all my phones from them including the LG Viewty. The Viewty camera quality is not quite up to par with the N82. The Viewty mp3 player is no where as loud as the N82 and it has no sound adjustments.
Thank you for answering my question. I will be purchasing this device this weekend! I plan to give my personal opinion and share it with everyone.
This phone is GSM, so it will work with Rogers Canada!!! You just change the sim card!
to hossein & amethyst,
N82's sound quality is better compared to N73ME when listening to a headset or external speakers. However, N73ME's built-in speakers is louder than N82. N82's loudspeaker is weak. But overall i still prefer N82 cause i don't listen much to it's built-in loudspeakers. I used headset for private moments and external speakers like altec lansing for a more extensive listening.
Go to tools, settings, general, enhancement, tv-out. Change the current settings that will work on your tv, and don't forget to set the flicker filter ON.
Enjoy your tv-out experience coz i'm enjoying it.
hello friends i have a question about the video when u connect ur phone to tv throught AV cable come with the phone on my tv the never stops its rolling like if u have uk movies they cant played on us tv is there is same thing with phone too i mean the records video on pal system which is in uk cause the phone i am have is from Hong Kong if its like that is there any thing that i could change the settings anyone there can help me thanx
I am in love with the sound of my 5610...and this was to be my next buy for log trips. Is it so bad?
I use my phone sbasically for radio, music, some photos and sms.
Oh dear...if the player is that bad I might not buy it
External speakers are great.
Headphones are a piece of crap. It's not the headphones, it's the phone. If you want to use this phone as a powerful mp3 player look elsewhere.
The only negative thing about this phone is the quality of the sound sucks.
It's not the headphones cause the headphones are 1000x louder on my PC. It's the chip nokia used on the N82.
I got this phone for $552 shipped from ebay.
This is an excellent phone. It looks a lot nicer than the photos. I have nothing negative to say about the phone.
The screen is very bright. The colors do appear to be a little washed out however. Still nothing major. I give this phone a 10/10.
thanks for your answer sir jetsson thanks you very much ^_^
last question...errr about the video recording...do you still get the red light while recording videos?
thanks sir more power^_^
A can of sardines!!!! you got it..(nevertheless it is a very powerful phone)
i want to know about n82's sound quality and specially its loudness?like n95?n73?or between them?help me please.this is very important for me
is there any phone like this phone i mean like flash and multimedia etc and this phone rocks.
this phone lookes great and can anyone tell me where can i have some pic of this phone.and dose this phone works like 6600 or like easy like 5300 what is this function type easy or hard.
Great phone as long as you see what its got.
But the looks, come on!
I would fire the guy who come up whit this look!
This phone is one ugly moth&%#er!
To those wondering about the GPS and quality.
I have tested this phone with Nokia maps, Google Maps and Tomotom version 6.
All work exceptionally well and can receive connection in under 10-30seconds out in the open depending on weather conditions. I have only tested the A-GPS with google maps and nokia maps and an external gps module with Tomtom.
Tomtom mobile works well however, wait for version 7 to arrive which will be released relatively soon.
Also, I have tested this in the UK, Sweden, France, Denmark....basically Europe.
the Shutter sound can be turned off if you turn off the warning tones and silent keypad not sure which combination but its silent for me.
wow finally the n82 hit the Philippines now if only the price would drop a bit ^_^
a couple of questions though if anyone would answe...will very much appreciate it^_^
1.does the xenon flash still light up when taking videos?
2.err...One might find this weird but....can you disable the camera shutter sound? hehehe cant take candid photos with shutter sound seems like for for quite some time now series 40 phones such as 6233,6131,6300,5300 are the only ones to be able to disable the shutter
having a camera light is acceptable in order to let people know that they are being picture taken but having a shutter sound is too...not discreet, disturbs people when you are in a public tranport etc...
3. lastly...any differences in the U.I. compared to n95? or is it the exact same one? It would be nice if they added a little extra heheheh^_^
Yes it support 8GB microSDHC.

buy a separate gps,a real one. The precision of gps of n82,and the detail level of nokia maps are far of a real gps unit. Like their photo-video quality:good for a mobile phone, but weak compared with stand alone real movie or photo cameras. Just for fun,not for real arhive recordings,to pass through the years. I am waiting in 2008 for a new N-monster with optical zoom, better resolution
