wens the review ?? wens the review ?!?!?!?!?! waiting with bated breath !!!
I was a Nokia fan through and through untill they started falling behind with low res screens and old tech cameras. To make matters worse, they became seriously slugish and prone to crashing and freezing up. I then switched to SE with the old cream and orange w800i walkmen phone, and I have to say it was the closest I have had to perfection. 2 years on, and my demands have increased..I now want mobile internet and a better camera..and with all the hype of the N95, I thought this was the phone to set things back in Nokis favour. Alas it wasn't to be. WHile the phone promised much, it delivered on few. The creeky casing, loose 2 way slider, pathetically placed headphone jack, gimmiky multimedia buttons, sluggish, crash prone software, terrible battery, useless GPS all had me running back to a proven but basic winning formula of Sony Ericsson. After having my N95 replaced no fewer then 3 times for within the first 14 days, I decided to call it a day and sell the replacement and use the money to buy the K810i (pocketing the difference). And guys, what a difference, the battery, the build quality, the quality of the pics..it never crashes, has fast snappy software..granted I wil miss the lovely oversized screen, the 30fps video and real browsing experience..but I have to say..there isn't a phone yet that can truely claim to do it all..
I sincerely hope Nokia have gotten their act together with this N82, instead of just trying to squeeze a little more out of a re packaged N95.
I will hammer it when it comes out before taking the plunge..because last time, those reviewers clearly never had the phone for more then a few hours to assess its longivity.
I just love this new N82 phone...I will buy this phone next year hopefully. It's got everything that I wanted...even if it doesn't have an infrared that's not alter the best features its got....
i can't wait to see this N82 phone!but NOKIA should make good quality KEYPAD and phone cover (housing)'coz some are fading like the N-76.
Looks pretty good and features seem ok, the only reservation I have is the size..but will wait and see
Gsmarena,please make a comparison for n82 5mpix vs n95 mpix vs k850 5mpix + review for n82
yes. because it falls under the same category fon. n82 is priced higher because its just been out. most often than not nokia is priced higher than SE.
People, howcome that u'r comparing btween SE K850 with this N82? check the price pls, in Indonesia SE will sell at Euro 360, and this N82, will have est price Euro 450, for me SE still da best!! especially, after they's intoduce the next thin K-series with 5 mpix also.
very modern and the best fon ever. nokia is number 1. SE should learn from nokia they are now only number 4.
-Battery life is average good!
-Price is low (640USD) for what you get!
-Amazing features that you wont regret!
This is probably the phone of the year. A+++
i do not want to spend so much money on a device that will kick my ass after i buy it.
kick my ass:
1) run out of battery in a conversation
2) run out of battery after listing to music
3) run out of battery while taking pictures or recoding video
4) carry extra batteries in my pocket
5) charge it twice a day with extensive usage
6) slow down after installing a few applicatiob
lets admit it nokia dont know how to make good battery.
let us all dream about a better phone
1) battery life of SE
2) music quality of walkman SE
3) picture quality of cyber-shot SE
4) internet connectiviy HSDPA WiFi on nokia
5) design and themes of SE
6) s60 hell no ..JP-8 A200 platform
7) Voip functions of Nokia
well we are certainly not getting this phone in this world..probably in heaven i guess.
The battery life is of only 225hrs, similar to that of the N95 which has been very critized since it was made public.
It is not comparable to the N73 because the N82 has a more powerful processor, graphics accelerator, wifi, gps and other enhanced features that consume more battery.
N82 has great features, but you won't be able to use them without thinking twice:
.3.5mm jack but you can't listen to mp3 for more than an hour or two.
.wifi and gps will drain your battery very quickly and you won't be able to make calls.
.VGA 30fps video recording but you will never fill the memory card before the battery goes off...
.N-Gage gaming platform but...
And so on.
With the N81 Nokia improved a lot the battery life. I got impressed, but with N82 they have gone backwards with what was supposed to be one of the best phones to date.
If anyone is curious just take a look to the Samsung i550 or the i560 (both Symbian series 60), they are at least interesting, and the i550 boasts a 1200mAh battery.
Well mAh doesnt matter at all.Phones with 900mAh have 9hours talktime and 400hrs standby time. And i agree with you on what you said.Check out k850i,w960i,p1i they all have less than 1000mAh but provide more than what 1200mAh nokia phones provide...(a SE 1200mAh battery will last your lifetime and never run out of battery)..just kidding...k850i rocks
nokia definitly has superior video quality over n95(check reviews here)
Touch screen = fake nokia, trust me rampant on ebay beware. nolka, nokian, Be CAREFUL!!! GOES 4 N95 ALSO.
