is 900/1900/2100 good for usa att? I thought you have to have 850 which does not exist in n85. please can someone answer this.
Aries, 21 Oct 2008Anyone seen the back of this phone. Coz since they view this phone, they haven't shown the ba... morethe rear side of this phone is not my taste. i like the back side of n81/n96 more than this.
The King, 21 Oct 2008hey amit... hows d phone ?? surprising its released in india but no ads or hype !!n85 and n79 are not overhyped unlike 5800. these are released already unknowingly. nokia didn't announce that these had already shipped to the cellphone shops. probably because when they launched this phone, they just made a press release to launch it and did not hold an actual event.
phelan, 22 Oct 2008Where's my NAM version ;_;there is no nam version of n85 since n85 already supports triband hsdpa including 850mhz.
Anonymous, 22 Oct 2008u cant be serious about sq this is n81 sucessor why would sq be worseaccording to reviews, n85 is even worse in audio quality than n96. it's actually not an n81 successor. n85 is a revamped edition of n95 classic.
I have seen and used the phone, already.
A sweet performer, a very sweet performer indeed.
Camera lens cover, is neat
All in all feel in hand is of superb quality, minus the whobbly feel from the slider - nothing that you can't live with.
Excellent camera performance minus the lack of Xenon Flash.
Wi-Fi support, and YouTube support (Flash Video)
Excellent sound quality via the FM trasmitter.
The N96, is a guru though with its massive 16GB of internal memory, I liked the freedom such capacity gives me, needless to mention it to be expandable via MicroSD. but basically thats what the N96 has over this sweet N85 and well, the marginal difference in screen size. and here I would like to note that OLED does make a difference, very crisp images indeed,
Anonymous, 21 Oct 2008dis fone shud b 300 euros for me same here :))
Anonymous, 21 Oct 2008Don't know which one to buy, N85 or N79 : expensive but better screen, against cheaper and bet... moren85 IN BRIEF
finger print magnet,
average visibility under sunlight,
may not be compatible with some existing software (eg nokia labs' Conversation),
slider feels a bit wobbly at times (in the closed position) but nothing too bothersome,
Quickoffice is read-only (missing my E90 and G700 already),
flash can be stronger -- but definitely brighter than N95.
**********very good points**********
outstanding battery life (i left the internet connection on for almost 12 hours but when i tried to charge it the next day,
the hp says battery full, beautiful screen,
pretty fast camera,
good volume as music player and phone, wonderful clarity and volume as a phone, good camera lens cover,
charges by USB,
audio jet is at the top of phone, pretty good stereo speakers, separate keypad lock button,
nicely designed side buttons,
good battery cover latch,
fast file transfer speed (unlike the stupid N95 8gb's -- which was the reason why i decided microSD makes more sense).
number and navigation pads surprisingly did not bother me,
nice heft (ultralight phones feel really cheap),
buttons do feel a little stiff (can't E90/N95), for the D-pad, the bottom side seems stiffer than the other 3 sides -- perhaps bcos that's the side that gets depressed most often.
Don't know which one to buy, N85 or N79 : expensive but better screen, against cheaper and better looks
