Nokia Neva said the N96 was an upgrade 2 the N95 8GB.......its an ALTERNATIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted 2 purchase the N95 8GB yet i didnt coz i needed more space.....so The N96 is an ALTERNATIVE.........Nokia realised that peaople are different so in order 2 suit the needs of numerous people and meet there charector standards in wat phone they should use, they produce a number of models with similer features for u 2 choose from.....that way they meet ur perdonal needs.....!!!!So if u dnt like the N96 that means it wasnt ment 4 you......Your baby is being Made by Nokia as we speak. Anonymous, 14 Sep 2008Oh, Dani boy. You sounds like a cry baby, begging attention by dissing Nokia phones in a Nokia... moreAs of what Mobile-review said about Sony Ericsson they said 'Sony Ericsson have good youth appeal and eye catchy design'
that was in the W980 review
then i read 5310's review and they said 'it has full functionality with youth appeal'
oh yeah and the DSP chip
basically they were on Nokias side and yeah i know why .
but still ...yeah truth be said they are right about SE sort off
I bought a Nokia N95-2 8 GB.
Unfortunately, the phone seems to be faulty out of the box.
First I noticed that the sliding screen cover was a little loose and I suggested to myself it wasn’t a major problem and that an adjustment could be done to fix it at nokia service deparment, but the worst was about to come.
After charging the device fully I turn it on. A massage “start-up failed, contact your retailer” appeared. After 3-4 attempts the phone loaded and was working. It was a little slow and with some strange menu jumps at first but, after a couple of hours the phone restarted by it self and seemed to be working much better. I tried to restore the phone, using the N-Series PC suit program which I had from my other N95-2 but, unfortunately again, this attempt failed through the progress at 81%.
My last attempt was to update the firmware as that the new v.30.0.018 was available from Nokia software’s updater program for this phone. This action was installed successfully and made the phone working much better, but again you could notice that it wasn’t perfect and it has turned off several times by its self.
I’ve had NOKIA phones all my life including the N95 and N95 8GB so I think a can be in a position to understand that something is wrong or not.
8 hours from my purchase of this phone, made me hate it and forced me to give up and repack it.Not even the screen sticker was ever removed.
With all the respect, all the above mentioned are very honest. I think I deserve a fully replacement and not a fixing service. I have decided to will wait for the new N96 or N85 to arrive. I hope NOKIA SHOP accept my decistion.
Anonymous, 14 Sep 20083 Nokia phones are upcoming:
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic - first S60 Touch UI
Nokia N98 - Flagshi... moreI hope u 100% correct ....coz some say the N98 is the 8megapixel(VGA res. screen) camera on the back coz i sensurely DOUBT nokia would make an ugly design Like The sammsung D810 and D910(Ugly Ugly)......
The N97 is S60 Touch UI with VGA res. screen.....
3 Nokia phones are upcoming:
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic - first S60 Touch UI
Nokia N98 - Flagship S60 Touch UI w/ VGA display
Nokia N97 - 8MP Flagship Slider w/ a Rotating Camera at the top of the phone (successor of N93)

N97 will be announced in Q1 2009.
Anonymous, 13 Sep 2008stop that now.... n91 have great bass with nice treable, well balanced loud sound technology.th... moren91 had the best sound quality that was before. but now the merit goes to samsung i8510 innov8 now that has the best sound quality. samsung has their own dsp sound chip that uses dnse 2.0 technology, same with their home stereo system. i can't think of any electronic gadget that samsung does not do. even memory chips, processors, camera lens and sensors, computer hardwares, audio chips, samsung does it all. so it's not impossible for samsung to create a very good, if not the best, mobile phone.
zero cool, 13 Sep 2008yeah made in china nokia ohones simply are not reliable as they use low grade materials despit... moremade in china and made in finland nokia phones are just the same. the hardware and raw materials used are just the same. the only difference is from where they were assembled into finished products.
samsung products are of high quality. infact, makes the best slider phones in the world. unlike nokia sliders which wobble and loose and then eventually break into halves, samsung sliders are very solid and the sliding mechanism is smooth, their products last longer than nokia phones. aside from phones, samsung makes the best electronic appliances. all their products are elegant and classy. that's why they are the number 1 electronics company and the number 2 mobile phone manufacturer in the world.
Dani , 13 Sep 2008and im sorry to say this N85 will probably have worst quality images then K850i
since N85 ... moreOh, Dani boy. You sounds like a cry baby, begging attention by dissing Nokia phones in a Nokia forum. If you would have read reviews made by people who has some knowledge of the latest mobile phones you would have noticed these comments:
Mobile review, N85 vs. C905;
"Sony Ericsson tout their C905 as the ultimate phone with an 8 Mpix camera onboard, but when you think of it, retailing at a similar price point, it loses to the N85 on every major account (bar the camera) - music quality, radio, extra applications, screen, navigation, you name it. Basically, these phones are in two completely different leagues that happen to have comparable price tags."
Mobile review, N85 vs. INNOV8:
"N85 isn't that much of a revelation, but in terms of price/quality ratio it is Nokia's, and let's face it, the market's finest solution to date. Basically, you won't find a phone below 600 Euro that can take on the N85 functionality-wise (while the Samsung INNOV8 can give the N85 a rough run for its money, its price tag is a lot heftier)."
And when speaking of Nokia N-series mid-range/Flagship phones, we are not comparing them to SE/Samsung phones. Nokia mid-range N-serie phone >> SE flagship phone.
