sven, 27 Aug 2008Great phone, but the video camera is very poor.what are you talking about video camera?
Anonymous, 26 Aug 2008well...all i can say that the build quality is better then the n81 and n96 and it has better ... moreHow the hell do you know if it has better build quality and sound than the n81? Please don't talk rubbish as there are no reviews to prove any sound quality tests. In fact the other guy is probably right about the build quality as i saw live photos of n85 and there was light leakage all around the edges in the dark. So the guy is talking sense and it is a known problem in n81 also along with creeking , pull off keys etc.
it's less likely that n85 and n79 will have the freescale 369mhz cpu because that cpu CANNOT produce a video recording capability of 30fps. i think these 2 phones got the tiomap processor of n95/n82. n85 is the successor of n81 not of n95.
n85 and n96 may be similar in many terms but are positioned at different market niche so i think they will have their customers who'll be buying them.
hold up does this mean the n96 and this will look the same, and the difference is only the available hd? Can some please get back to me about this.....
Not quite sure how Nokia are going to survive in the future. I have had nokias for the past 8 years or so, they just don't develop enough, every phone they make is very similar just in a different casing. This to the N96... Honestly how can they relase these phones being their High end handsets when other companies are bringing out far more advanced handsets.
I'm struggling to find anything significantly different from the n96... all I can see is that this has significantly less memory and it's slightly smaller and heavier. Other than that they look the same, act the same and will most likely be priced about the same... get an N96 if you want a good Nokia *shrugs*
"an estimated retail price of 450 euro (660 US dollars) before taxes or subsides."
How much do you think it will cost with a contract?
Anonymous, 26 Aug 2008what I'm worried about is build quality because it looks too similar to the N81, could end up ... morewell...all i can say that the build quality is better then the n81 and n96 and it has better audio performance plus it has 30 hours of music playback (take that walkmans) and very loud stereo speakers.
what I'm worried about is build quality because it looks too similar to the N81, could end up being a disaster phone...
better to get N96 then .. lol whats the diffrence :)?? atleast that'll be 16GB
carloud, 26 Aug 2008hmm it seems that, if n73 has n78
n95 has n85...
hmm though no specs about this phon... moreI think both the n85 and n79 will be running on the freescale 369mhz processor.
What i do not get is why nokia released the n78 at 350euros, then less than 6 months later release n79 (also for 350euros) which looks like a good looking n82 on steroids.
Same thing for the n96. The n85 ditches the bigger memory and tv receiver for an fm transmitter, full n-gage support, better screen quality and it 100euros cheaper. Im not saying i hate the n78 or n96. Im just questioning the logic because the n79 will kill the n78 market and give serious challenge to the n82. The n85 is much cheaper than the n96, yet brings more to the plate...
