The Nokia N900 is powered by a high-end OMAP 3430 ARM Cortex A8 which is a System-on-a-chip made by Texas Instruments based on a 65-nanometer CMOS process. The OMAP 3430 is composed of three microprocessors; the Cortex A8 running at 600 MHz used to run the OS and applications, the PowerVR SGX 530 GPU made by Imagination Technologies which supports OpenGL ES 2.0 and is capable of up to 14 MPolys/s and a TMS320C64x, the digital signal processors, running at 430 MHz used to run the image processing (camera), audio processing (telephony) and data transmission. The TMS320 C64x main purpose is to offload the Cortex A8 from having to process audio and video signal. Moreover the OMAP 3430 on some N900 devices has been successfully over-clocked upto 1150Mhz by using a modified kernel and editing the kernel power configuration file. The system has 256 MB of dedicated high performance RAM (Mobile DDR) paired with access to 768 MB swap space managed by the OS. This provides a total of 1 GB of virtual memory.

frankie, 20 Sep 2010Hi anyone I want to know how is the battery last? should i wait for N8? or go for iphone forge... morethe battery is probably my main gripe with this phone. i find that with moderate use (eg casual web browsing and email via 3g, a few calls and texts, music playback and using the fm transmitter in the car for 30mins) my battery is almost empty by 9pm (day started at 8am. i have actually just bought another battery from ebay. nokia should have used a stronger battery for this beast!
Robie, 20 Sep 2010jasmine can record th calls through an application called "recaller".. cheers....for an advise, the recaller has bugs in terms of, wiping ur widgets and u have to add widget again+ it also affects the media player widget, the play button will stop working.

coldy , 19 Sep 2010i wanna but this phone, can anyone tell me. they person who purchased this mobile can have a... morei previously owned and n97, and the n900 is better in most aspects. faster and more stable imo. the only thing is that there are better apps for symbian. that being said, more and more apps are coming out for maemo. as far as user experiences go, maemo is definitely richer, though it does take some getting used to. perhaps the biggest question you need to ask yourself is if the lack of portrait mode will be a problem for you; it's not for me but some people need to be able to use their phone with one hand. some basic features are missing (eg custom ringtones, mms) but there are apps to rectify this now (though some apps aren't as stable as others). i would recommend this phone though, especially for those who want a computer in their pocket!
oh my, i got this phone 2 weeks ago, every day i use it change my life, wether it is music, instant messenging, facebook, social networking this phone does it! and its really fast on multi tasking! i recommend this to every one! you should really try it! nokia a friendly user phone i guess! nokia rockz!! whoo hooo! I just have one request, please make more application like yahoo video call!
