htc touch pro 2 is to slow compare to n900.I have both phones htc look is great but the feel is real bad.N900 is the way.
Check out http://maemo.org/ for Maemo 5 apps.
Even though very less but useful apps.
Also number of downloads for each apps is interesting...
capactive, xenon flash, leica lense, optical zoom should be added in the successor of n900
had my htc hd2 for 2 weeks now, bought it from clove.co.uk cost me 750 dollars and sold it out for 500 dollars yesterday. htc hd2 is a awesome phone but im a heavy texter so i sold it out. thinking buying this phone or the nokia e72, but this phone still new and we have to wait for more 3rd party software
Been using N900 for about a week or so and I am completely sold. Phone is brilliant and I think none of reviews do it justice. The platform is potentially the best right now. The only thing it lacks is vast number of applications. Which is just a matter of time.
One disappointment is the battery life. It's not great! Expect just under a day on full usage.
Other than that things is are promising. OS is able to do multitasking nicely. I tried testing version of OpenArena FPS game and it runs nice and smooth. TV out is great with video and audio quite good. Keyboard is pretty good as well.
Just waiting for the portrait mode. Not that it's a biggie even though I was concerned about this lack of feature before I bought the phone. You can use phone in portrait mode which is pretty useful. For other apps landscape makes perfect sense.
Last but not the least the browser. It just works as you expect. Flash player is laggy at times but it's a lot better than my Lenovo netbook so no complaints.
Integrated skype is very useful. You don't realise it unless you actually use it. And better still, you can find plugins in testing repository to use yahoo and msn in the same way as skype.
Applications: Several available in official repository. Add extra-repo and you get several more. Add testing and you get a lot more. Just add testing if you know what you're doing.
what do you guys think, are these reliable websites to order?

maemo not ... moreMaemo is much better than Anroid...:)
The battery issue, might be solved in the coming up-date.
it took me 2 weeks to get bored of the n900, also hated charging it 3 times a day,
maemo not as good when compared to android
skyfire on symbian runs 10 times faster than that flash built in n900.
if full flash support is a reason your buying then you would be wasting your money.........and good luck putting that brick in your pocket

I have a HTC HD2 at the moment and am selling it in order to buy a N900. On paper the specs of the HD2 trump the N900 but I do have to say buy the HD2 and if you get bored quickly then you will be selling it within a week. The HD2 is amazing, even compared too my Iphone, but I just found it boring very quickly. The N900 is a great device and im looking forward to mine. Fingers crossed I dont get any software issues, which you wont get with the HD2, but wheres the fun in that lol
is the n900's sounds better than the n97????whats the best????please answer this k...

Anonymous, 02 Jan 2010- Screen is only 65K, incomparable with 16M..... i had both phones and hd2 screen is just as g... moreI have no preference to any particular brand. I looked for long at the specs before deciding which to buy. Seriously I couldn't find better choice than n900; there is no one correct choice, it is individual. For me QWERTY is a must. If 65k looks the same as 16m, why nokia bothers with 16m? I know that 65k looks awful on laptop screen, why would it be different on tablet?
About storage: 32G card will cost you additional cash, 50$? better if free, or worse?
IR is old tech; better with IR or worse?
FM is not always static, better with or without?
So what is better in HD2, processor? hardware design? I have no evidence that HTC engineers are more competent than Nokia's.
