Brilliant phone. HAd it for a few days now. The hdd also has sensors like the acceleration sensor so if u drop it from higher than 1m, it switches the hdd off to prevent some degree of damamge. So far only one hitch but that was cos i didnt disconnect the phone properly from the pc. A simple restart sorted that out. Scores a comfortable 9/10. My only gripe is the location of the menu button. I find it cumbersome using one hand to operate the button as i have a lateent fear of droppping it!
I m proud to have N91 it is very uncommon phone
, its sound makes me wild when i listen to my heart touching trance songs. it has real sound effects on.
Regarding hanging up etc - Please see my message entitled User Advice below.

N91 is a good phone but it gets restarted at times and also has Hard disk problems which i faced
N91-8Gb spec sheet from Nokia.com
(Google and Yahoo is amazing )
http://www.nokia.com/NOKIA_COM_1/Press/Press_Events/Nokia_Open_Studio_26_Sept_2006/pdf/Nokia_N91_8GB_Datasheet.pdf
BT stereo etc. Also I heard rumors it will also support plug-n-play UPNP. Hey if my holiday bonus comes through I may buy one :)

To the person with the SCR issue (which ia actually n audio issue)
1) I did a yahoo on "Nokia USA N91" and here it is http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/N91/0,7747,,00.html
So the receptionist was obviosuly wrong.
As for a sound flicker --never heard of it however I did read that the N91 has a 10 or 12 Mbyte buffer in memory to avoid skipping That usually holds 2 songs (ave song according to APPLE is 4.5 Mbytes which is 192 Kbps samplng, high quality MP3). So the song playing and the next song in the cue are in RAM so you are never playing off the HDD - IPOD does the same thing) I would guess that if she had very high sampled MP3s that were larger than the buffer it may skip? one a really bumpy road...just a Guess. I assume she is listening using the headset? Could be a headset connection issue.

N91 8GB
Here is what I was able to find out
N91 +
a) 8GB storage
b) Black color
c) Bluetooth Stereo (AD2P is BT stereo)
The HDD "reliability" should start off where N91 SW 2.00 is and be better (later SW). For people complaining about the HDD - see my advice and update the sw. Most people from what I can tell have not had a problem In the end the HDDs have had no problem its been the sw (3rd party apps are the worst) that screw up their databases and cant see the HDD etc (they do the ame for MMCs). The 2.00SW has made it tougher for these apps to "not see" or screw up the N91 (ie grab the HDD by leaving some files open) so we see "HDD unavailabe".
See the N91 USer Advice and update :)

Wonder if the NEW N91 8gb Phone will be more reliable than the existing N91?
will it be a better quality hard drive that actually lasts more than a few months?
or will it become corrupted etc etc
any info on this?
To all you N91 users out there, you're not gonna like this.
Nokia has launched a full black version of the N91 with a 8gb hard disk!
Check out the following link:
http://www.nokia.com/nseries/index.html?lang=en&country=R1#product,n91_8gb
As for the ones, who've been wanting to buy one....WOW, is all I can say!
the n91 music edition is on its way with 8gb storage just to keep up with samsung but both still not released
TO: PAPPY
Thanks for the reply, but actually it is not a screen issue, but a sound issue.
Sorry about that,... (its not actually my phone, but someone I know)
Acco to the 3rd person, the sound "flickers" when the phone is being used on the highway specially when there is a bump of something.
Also, can you provide the contact info for nokia n91 warranty issues?
I have called nokia.com, but, like I said the receptionist would not help since the n91 is not U.S. market phone, they said I have to call Europe and it's not a toll free # either.
Thanks.
To dave
Weird. Sound slike the sw got screwed up Look at User Advice may need to try the hard reset section.
pappy
To jay2x - read my User advice about Out of memory or Memory full. Its the RAM not the HDD or the N91 but the APPs. You may have alot of APPs hogging RAm memory even after they are closed. Power cycling is what clears up the RAM.

IMPORTANT READ THIS!!!
This phone has tonnes of features...its heavy as said before but that is not a problem for me...For those who complain it to be heavy-"Many reviews said that the phone is heavy for its features...then why the F*** did you buy the phone knowing that it is heavy!!!"...If you ppl need a light weighted feature less phone with dumb mp3 player that doesn't support eAAC+ format go for SE Walkman phones...never turn towords Nokia. With advanced eAAC+ format, I can store upto 450 songs on a 512MB memory with the same quality as that of MP3. Hence I can nearly store upto 4000 songs on N91 which supports eAAC+ which is a really big advantage which none of the SE phones support...hence only 1000 songs can be stored in a 4GB memory stick duo in SE Walkman phones which is RUBBISH!!!. Nokia Rulz again. N91 has a big screen to watch videos where SE phones have a crappy small screens which makes it useless for watching videos. N91 can record videos upto 356x288 resolution, SE phones can Never. Hence Nokia Wins Hands Down. Never compare Nokia with SE again.
to pappy,
hi dude, i had a horrible experience bout my N91. every now and then a note always appear "memory full" well infact i dont have too much file, only pictures are saved at my HDD. i always restart my phone when this happen.
pls help what to do dude?
my software is v1.10
To Mangesh - Hi. The sms accelerator is just a small application that runs in the background. You wont see it on the desktop etc but if you go into application manager you will see it as installed. Its running.
To Melimex - I have heard that from three people now. It onlyhappens with eAAC songs and I think if you press stop then you can resume. I believe that 2.00.052 improved alot of things and added WDRM but it introduced this. I suspect Nokia will patch this up with another release sometime (with the ability to update sw at home I would guess the sw updates will come more often like on a computer - lets see).
The volume thing I never heard of, is the headset okay?
To sesha - Yuan. So you must have bought it in China. China does not allow WLAN (or WCDMA) in phones yet. I paid almost 780 USD (in the uk) for mine.
pappy
Hi Pappy
I recently got FW 2.00.052 for my N91-1 and now whenever i try to forward or rewind my songs in the music player it pauses and does not resume. I have to stop the song and play it again! I am facing this prob after i got the update. Am i the only one facing this prob?
And one more thing .... after the update the earphones which were provided by nokia are making weird noise (the left one) whenever i turn the vol. above 70%.
my only complains about this phone
-164g makes it similar to a brick
-hdd managins has issues ('ve herd stuff from a friend who owned one)
-it has a freakin joystick. i do not trust such devices
-quite expesive considering u can get a smaller S60 phone and put a cheap 2gb card in it. who rly needs 4gb?
-the slide keyboard gets kinda loose in time
-rather short battery life
