Just bought an N91. After entering about 162 contacts data, it stops accepting any contact or delete a contact automatically to accomondate the new contact. Any ideas as to what to do to continue accepting contacts in its phone memory? Thanks.

Hi
I can venture a guess. Nokia (even S40) has had a history in the past of not handling the situation where you run out of ROM. I remember a situation where i was saving something (my 6600) and it ran out of ROM and the thing starts acting weird. Try the #7370 and remove items from ROM memory. If you cant even boot up then use the hard reset (se tips i forget the keysequence)
Also Always leave about 1/2 Mbyte of ROM left in phones. (put content etc on HDD)

Hi Pappy
Right, first time the phone stopped sending messages with the message general aplication memory full then as i say i deleted all data off the device and tried a hard reboot - I'm assuming you know what i mean by that :0) - when i turned the phone back on none of the keys were working exept for the on/off button and i couldn't get it to turn on beyond the page that says continue using phone in offline mode. i tried connecting it to the pc and the pc didn't recognise the phone as being connected.
The scond time is exactly the same problem except this time it happened during a call and when i wanted to hang up the kys had frozen and i couldn't hang up without removing the battery. which then had the same result as before. (however i didn't even get to delete any data this time)
This is the second n91 i've had because the first time the device was sent back to Nokia who couldn't work out the problem and sent me a replacement phone.

Im not sure the contacts are compatible between SE and Nokia, never tried. Why not try sending one as an SMS or via Btooth and see if you can even open it

I dn' know if my PC has a problem but I run norton so unless its something that that doesn't pick up i would assume its ok. The phone was running he latest version and las time it started rynning sowl so i deleted all dat off the phone (Not Fun when you've spent ages updaing it). I've never had this problem with other phones and my old 6630 with a 1 meg memory card is much better.

Hi CJM
I was wondering if there is something in your PC and or content environment that keeps recreating the problem on your device. I agree that symbian should be more robust and be able to deal with different tools, applications, use patterns etc but I just wondering.
As a starter ensure you have the latest sw
2.10 or 2.20 and also look at the tips post I gave below.
Good luck

To wicked friends
Thanks. Again if you have 2 GIG and its hanging up then i suspect you have all your music in one folder. See the tips and symbian likes to see approx 100 files per folder so wither use WMP10 on the pc to manage your music (which divides up music base don artist, album into folders automatically). OR go intp your My Music folder and create a few extra folders (lets say 10 folders for example) and copy no more than 100 songs (less if possible) into these folders. You can do the same for images too..the whole OS will run faster when acess the HDD.
And dont use PC suite (or the Nokia Audio Manager)
