To vanko: It sounds like the cable has become loose or disconnected between your display and the elecronics board. A poster about 6 months ago had the same issue. Take it to a centre and they can place it back on.

Mangesh: I wonder if you phone ROM is almost full. This sometimes has caused Nkia devices to behave weird. You will have to do the reset *#7370# (12345) and clear out the ROM

Pappy,
the sound is going weired when i am gonna play any song from the music liabrary and its same situation happens to mudia player,and yesterday when i trying to play a song all music files and data are gonna disapperead and phone shows the message ' harddisk corrupted'.after that i did a full format from tools,right now hdd works fine,but the phone given me same problem.
1.the backlight is going on after few intervel.
2.when i trying to play any song after some time the sound is going to mute automatically.it happens to both speaker and headset as well.same with media player.
3.after attend the call the earpiece volume is gonna mute,its very painful,i hardly listen the voice.
thats all.i really dont understand why its happen?.waiting for the suggestion pappy.thanks buddy.

Hi if anyone can help me out with my n91, i gotta problem I can make calls I can receive calls but my display it's not working it's blinking some lines shows up, it's not completely lost but I don't see anything from the menu and so on. Is it from the display or the software what should I do.Thx in advance!

Hi its been a while :). That sounds weird. Can you describe what happens. Is it while playing certain songs? Using the Media player or just the Music player or both. Is it with the headset etc...i hav not experienced the problem but maybe we can isolate it.

If you concern about sound through speaker you will really disappoint because N91 speaker is very weak and even not compareble to 3250. but through better headset you will get extremely clearer,louder and sweeter sound.Infact right now no anyone music phone is standing near to N91.It delivered great sound quality.

Got this mobile 4 6 mnths.Battery is poor.I have to charge it daily,theres something wrong with software--i cant send texts,have to reboot it about 5 times a week.

hi,my n91 is not working properly,music player and video output sound is going to mute after several minutes.thats why i cant listen music.i m very concious about my phone,so its not mishadeled as well.any idea why this problem is ocuured?.thanks in advanced.waiting for reply.

No problem. Glad it worked. It sounds like some application misbehaved and kept some file open that the O/S wanted closed before it would let other applications get at the HDD. Thats why deleting the folders nuked the offending file.

Hello PAPPY,thanks a lot for ur help.my n91 hdd came back to life.followed ur advice about deleting the folders thru the file manager by using the option 'find text' and the problem was solved.now my ipod video 30gb have to go back into storage once again,had been gathering dust since i bought the n91 8gb.i think that says a lot about the music capabilities of the n91 which in my opinion has the best sound quality thru the headphone among music mobiles till date.once again PAPPY thank you.

this fones sucx....coz i bought it a weeks ago..


the speakers are not loud...compare to 3250...

and the fone(n91)
can't write any chinese pinyin...i hate it..


some of my friends using chinese pinyin didn't recognized their txt msgs. on my fone(n91)



i hate it..,...worst..


but i like the style....

Have you tried formatting the HDD from the PC? You can also try these (from another forum a while back)

a) Battery cover - HDD unavailable or in use another tip
[*] turn off the phone
[*]Removed back cover
[*]Restarted phone
[*]after restarting put the back cover
[*]format hard disk


b) Deleting Databases

Go to filemanager (filing cabinet icon)
Move joystick to switch to HDD tab
Select Options
Select Find
Select HDD memory
Type in system in "Find Text" field
See the system folder
then see data folder
erase the whole data folder
Power cycle the device
You can also use your PC and USB mass storage to see it

Hi Shayne

Im glad you are enjoying yourself and clearly you have spent well over, i estimate, over 1500 UK pounds on Nseries devices so these types of devices are your passion to some degree.

In any event If there is some N95 music edition coming like you said ... i'll believe that it has the same quality (loud, response, no hiss etc) when i hear it. So far all the devices that have claimed to be as good in audio (against which I judge a music device) have come upshort. Eventually (and hopefully) another Nokia or SE device will come along and de-throne the N91/N91 8Gb as the tip audio device.. at that point ill buy one and move over to a new forum :)

You make me laugh pappy. the N91 does not last longer than the N73 wen playing music non-stop. the N91 battery drains faster than N73.

Ive tested both phones N73 against N91 with latest firmware & to be honest N91 does have 100% Sound quality but N73 outperforms n91 in Display Reso, Camera, Performance, Longer Battery Life.

btw I have 4GB Mini-SD with a Folder Called MyMusic & in that there is albums of music in aacPlus format & so many images in the Images folder so far there is no slowness in the performance from N73 yet. I have occuppied 3.2GB out of the 4GB

the Gallery folder loads like a charm were as N91 gallery takes the mick. Also N73 Gallery creates thumbnails of ur images/videos so der for faster load gallery. N91 u add a new pic or video the gallery takes ages to load even with the latest firmwares such as;

v2.10.03 [4GB]
v2.20.008 [4GB]
v3.00.060 [8GB]
v3.10.013 [8GB]

with the v3.00.060 firmware so many users have got HDD corrupted like the N91 4GB Model with earlier firmware.

Watch Nokia's new firmware that is coming soon the Nokia N95 Music Edition Firmware which will have same sound quality as N91 4GB/8GB
(you'll soon see that they will introduce this wen there new music phone is in market)
