Without doubt N95 is one of the best phone in the world. I have had many, ranging from pocket loox t830 to sony ericsson p990i but nothing can compare with the N95,
Could someone tell me how good the Wi-Fi antenna is.I've read that it's better than the n80(lost connection at 6metres) thanks
I had a moto v6 maxx for a while before under 14 day exchange got n95,,the v6 maxx showed hsdpa in town center but the n95 not,,so followed the spanish link (i think ) below and its about firmware v12 and this upgrade now switches on the 3+ icon now indicating your in a hsdpa zone...its also adss agps and people are reporting sharper pics and less compression used,,nothing on battery life as yet but the update is for unbranded models only at moment may have to wait for voda update ??
..i installd firmware version-12..i still dont find ne significant differences..
Firewall?You mean firmware?
Not every N95 supported the new FW.So you have wait some days.
New Firewall supposed to be available 220.127.116.11 i have tried to get it but not able to get it ,i will keep trying until i get it,an hope it improves the battery life an other functions to make the N95 faster
to andy burgin,,we all have our favorite sites and get nuggets of information from them that we can share on the forum so if you can keep us up to date on any updates thats a big help..It does seem some rumours do end up being true and if their will be update to a music edition of the n95 then hooray..This is still the best fone ive had in the n series and millions of times better than the s/e p990i which sounds childish but thats how the p990i behaves !
I just wondering people i have the nokia n95 orange varient, and one thing i noticed is that my friends nokian95 generic version has moving icon's on his menu, they seem to jump up at you!!!
Dose anyone else have these funky icons??? mine are just still
Lets hope there will be some Black Fascia available to buy now from Nokia an some new firewall to upgrade to make the N95 like the Music Edition one supposed to be released soon by Nokia, they did this to the N73 an the N73 in Black was brilliant, theres supposed to a new firewall available now i have read on some webpages but i have tried but nothing yet so i will keep checking
people who say that this phone gives lots of problems they lie actually they just hear from somewhere all r rumers and rumers r not always correct right my friend used this phone trust its a very gud phone
I find the browser really really slow especially when using GPRS but even with 3G it still takes a lot longer to load a page than my other phones.Ha ha ha ha aha
yeah but symbian is the most basic of any operating system.RAM management of the os is woeful!I'm amazed people actually praise symbian and in the same breath mock windows mobile,xp,vista etc lol.Obviously developers aren't to keen on Nokia's chosen os as seen with the lack of quality 3rd party applications-still no core player!
I just downloaded maps for UK. The software didn't say whether it was loading it to my phone or to my hardrive. There's no browse to see & or select !
I then go to maps to try & run the sat nav but instead of running the GPS software it just tries to connnect to my WLAN !
All the owners manual talks about is maps in relation to sat nav.
So I go to maps on my phone & let it connect to my WLAN. Then I put in a location for it to calc the route. I go to look at route & it says 'no GPS position' so I go outside to get a GPS signal & it then says 'disconnected', presumably disconnected from my WLAN !
So how the heck can you get this to work ?
Then I look in 'applications' to see if the GPS/sat nav software application is there to select to try & run, but it's not there !!!!!!!!
WTF do Nokia make things so hard ?
They've made GPS a big selling point of the N956 but it seems they don't care of anyone can actually get it to run !
Any suggestions appreciated.
Can somebody manage to do skype calls on this phone( as E65 can do)? Please explain
The symbian aspect is essential. From multitasking to powerful file management within root directories to program installation and execution, symbian enables all of this. If you ever used a phone as a real tool (you know, for work?), you would understand how important it is.
