Nokia N95 8GB - user opinions and reviews

Nokia

Anyone know when this is coming out in the UK?

Especially on O2.

I'm looking to upgrade my N93 for either this or an Iphone.

But I'm concerned about the later only having a two meg camera and there been some issues over Bluetooth.

This looks and sounds great though.

How do you get SatNav to work on it?

Do you need a BT GPS receiver or is it built in?

all features r good, but if the same model is upgraded with touch screen it would create a good sale in market.

Dear Nokia Management!

As I started with nokia 3310 and upto now using n73 as got lot expoereiences over diifferent type of mobiles, I strongly suggesting that improve batteries problems for all devices, another issue is Installation of Xenon flashes, (Video stablization and anti blur systems, flash on/off option for video recording and etc)in all latest models. rectification and recongniation of technical problems and immeidate sulotions by your selves not by unstandard Chines companies. at last to be well derseerved in world market try for evermore to be toaste for ervery with no complain at all.

Thanks and best regards

I am doing my best now to make my N95 look like the N95i i put a Black Fascia on it an Black keypads but found out to get the top section of the inside keypads to be in Black its a bit award as you have to change the inside slide piece but i just painted mine instead an wait till the N95i sliding mechanism will become available,i have just put the New N95i theme on my N95 as well an it looks brilliant in Black an Silver so i would rather improve my N95 instead of paying for the N95i because the price of 8gb internal memory will make the price of the N95i very expensive i think, an after xmas Nokia might release some new mobiles instead with camera an battery i hope

time after time i hate nokia. regular N95 has its own drawback, this is why nokia produce n95 successor 8gb. but after n95 8gb solve regular n95 matter, it has its own disadvantage again......why u r not making some product where it is almost successful and only some drawback which most user wouldnt mind with it?

W0QN, your comment that GPS is a bonus feature is quite ridiculous. You have to pay for every feature on the phone including GPS. The inclusion of GPS makes the phone more expensive. If you look at the original publicity photos of the N95, Nokia showed pictures of a map on the phone's screen to let everyone know it was an important feature. Yet the GPS chipset is deaf!! It performs dismally and cannot come close to Qualcomm or Sirf Star III. Why did Nokia implement third class GPS on a first class phone? Perhaps to cynically increase profit margins. If the hardware is inexpensive to implement but they still charge highly because of the Nokia brand then they profit more. The downside is that it causes untold misery to those who have to use it. GPS is an important feature. Many request for it when buying a high end phone. Nokia should not play games- they should give us the best.

this is an N-Series phone, the functions are focused mostly in multimedia, the GPS is just a bonus feature..

As I said in an earlier post, if this phone operates smoothly it will be the best lifestyle/entertainment/all-rounder phone on the market. Nevertheless it is certainly not a business phone: no QWERTY, no push E-mail and no editing/creating office documents rules it out. So the stark reality of having to carry two phones is staring one right in the face. You can't get it all in one phone!! Furthermore I believe the deaf GPS will be a limiting factor. Phonearena.com recently reviewed HTC's TyTN II. When it now came to the GPS (Qualcomm) it received a pass mark although it was not as good as a Sirf Star III. They now compared it to Nokia's N95 offering and just laughed. The Nokia was judged to be "funny" in comparison ie substandard. Why a prestigious company like Nokia place a lousy GPS set in a top phone is beyond me-the 8GB has the same "funny" GPS chipset!!

Two years ago, the N80 was more expensive than this. (N80 = ?570, N95 8GB = ?560). And now the N80's price has dropped dramatically in two years time. It'll take at least two years for the N95 8GB to be affordable by the masses, I think.

This phone is truly amazing. Lack of touchscreen means nothing because it can be dodgy in your pocket if it rubs against anything. Apart from that, this phone has everything you could wish for! Will be getting one as soon as they come out. :]
