Hello GSMArena.com readers.
Seems like the majority of opinions regarding the Nokia N96 turned positive since my last visit to this forum. I'm very glad to see this.
Unfortunately, there are still many critics, iGsm for example, who steadily post incorrect information and preaches on about topics whom he/she clearly have no education in.
First and foremost, the Nokia N96 and the Nokia N95 uses two different processing chips. The Nokia N95 features the Texas Instruments OMAP 2420, while the Nokia N96 will be incorporating a CPU from STMicroelectronics. I won't quote the exact model cause there are a number of sources detailing the device with different models.
Secondly, your comment "...will be unable to manage the music and videos fast" is both wrong technically and in the sense you are trying to state.
A device's "slowdown" is not from the amount of data storage you have, but from the amount of data the processor is trying to access and process.
When discussing how music and/or videos are going to be "managed" regarding mobile handsets, the common reference is data transferring.
The Nokia N95 supports USB 2.0 Full Speed via mini USB port. The Nokia N96 supports USB 2.0 Hi Speed via micro USB port.
Read the difference.

Lastly, you and others alike comments on the battery life and how the device's longevity doesn't meet your standards are quite trivial. What does matter is how the Nokia N96 compare to its predecessors, and to be frank, the Nokia N96 does an excellent job.

It's not worth replacing my N95 8GB with this one since 99% the same functionality. I'll just wait for their touchscreen unit. Come on NOKIA, it's been a long time but until now you don't have touchscreen unit even your most high-end doesn't have this feature. Unlike SE, they produce decent mobile phones while NOKIA produce cheap "plasticky" phones.

N96 has a nice look, great features but it will luck in performance and functionality.First of all the battery life will be realy poor.As a result of this, dvbh receiver,gps,mp3s and much more will be almost useless.Just think of it..if you talk for about an hour a day and listen to music for two hours there wont be any battery left for videos, gps,(of course you should forget about watching tv or surf the web!!!).Plus the processor of n96(simillar to n95) will be unable to manage the music and videos fast.It will be ok for 3 0r 4 gigs but when you use more memory the performance will slow down at the half or more..this is a fact(just talk to n95 users to ensure you that this is absolutely true!!)

@ravi
Sorry, it is too late.
The battery is already decided and it is horrible.
The performance will be worst than N95!!!!
Nokia really screwed this up - Sorry Nokia!
This phone is not just thick like a brick but also has a lousy battery!
What the heck they were thinking!
I hope somebody got the pink slip for this!
