> In reply to Miant @ 2008-07-02 18:37 from LFxPWeel, appears to have duall processors! So it shouldn't be slow, just like duo core pc's the frequency for dual core processors is slower than single core ones.

hmmmmm i've been looking for models of the N96 in china mainland and hong kong. My uncle tells me (he runs a mobile phone shop) that he can get the N96, real one, for the warehouse price of about 8k Chinese Dollars. It translates back to about 1.1k USD.
He says that it is a HK spec'd phone and does not know whether it will work outside the china network. Sadly, he did not have any on hand to show me since 8k for a phone in china is ALOT of money, it's like paying 8k for a phone over here.
He has a couple of fake N96s for sale. I turned them on to have a look and as far as I know, they either don't have the Symbian OS at all or only have the N95 8GB Symbian version.

As far as i know the N96 has got quite a few chips handling its Multimedia. It has a seperate Video acceleration chip, an audio chip processing chip that works with the video chip in Videos and MobileTV to deliver great sound and video quality, its also got the DVB-H chip for the TV and then all this is handled by the STMicrotronics 264mhz Dual CPU and then NOKIA also threw in an Accelerometer and some kind of acceleration sensor, must say this baby is loaded with loads of hardware, i think thats why it doesn't need as much processing (clock cycles) as the N95.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-07-03 18:07 from 0U0EDual core doesn't mean it doubles the frequency of the processor, but rather allows you to do more things at the same time, like listening to music and surfing the internet.

> In reply to G @ 2008-07-01 16:49 from mc3tI fully agree with you. Take in consideration also the fact that for a 2Mpx camera the resolution is 1600x1200, more than enough for the average LCD monitor you will probably see the pictures on. Is not the resolution that matters the most.
