There are many applications like quick office, SBP shell etc which we get trial version but usually need to pay it to get full version.
However, there are many sites like dotsis.com, dailymobile.se, mobicreed.com, mobilegamesarena.net etc where you can download CRACKED full version but it will be unsigned.
To install unsigned application, you can either hack your phone or alternatively sign the application yourself and install it. Remember, hacking your phone may void warranty. I have a signtool which I managed to get after some google search (and was free) from a Chinese site ( I dont speak/read that language) and now I use the same tool to sign any unsigned application so that I can install it with out "cerification error". I remember, some one on this forum had mentioned that the site I managed to get the sign tool doesnt provide it any more. Hence, I would recommend you do a google research about it.
Cijo, 28 Jun 2010I think the software do have a significant impact on the speed. Remember iphone 3g got 528MHz ... moreThanks, I'll google the RAMblow and post a comment on it's effiency. But the RAM itself is definitely a big player here. 128MB RAM is wholly insufficient considering the software my phone's cabable of running. I'm not moaning about the phone, I love it, and think it's totally awesome. Check out my phone review somewhere further down on 'Opinions'.
I just can't foresee the drastic improvements mentioned by NOKIA ENGINERR, happening unless by some miracle, the processor, and more importantly, RAM is somehow upgraded, like any household PC.
As for the 'speedy' BB 9500 and iPhone, I believe there 'stabile' OS is down to those manufacturers dodging the bullets by not being as bold as Nokia when it comes to real multitasking. Nokia have always been at the forefront when it comes to this, since the days of 6600 and NGage. That's eons ago.
For now, I manage my RAM by managing my software, managing my running applications. The device has never crashed, but has stalled when trying to run too many 'live' apps simultaneously.
I love my N97. It has it's flaws, as does my wife, but we all live in perfect harmony.
P.S. My BB9700 Bold crashed on me after 2 weeks while playing 1 RIM game, without running any other background applications. Thought I'd just mention that without getting into any sort of 'Which Manufacture is the Best' debate...

Dav, 29 Jun 2010reading all these opinions i came to a conclusion that alot of guys bought the n97 just becaus... moreWell said Dav, I personally have been persuing the phone for quite some time now and have been reading everything there is to know about it...so I am not in a position to say anything about the phone less I've used it for some time...
I found some new update Nokia N97 v.30 here
http://hpapplication.com/2010/06/nokia-n97-firmware-update-30-0-016/
Apparently there is another source that claims there is a version 3 of the N97 firmware. Here it is http://hpapplication.com/2010/06/nokia-n97-firmware-update-30-0-016/
I'm not familiar with this web site. I would be interested if anyone else can confirm this. So far, I have not seen anything official from Nokia, nor heard of anyone actually getting it. If this report is true, I being from Canada will not likely be one of the first regions to get the new firmware.
Dav, 29 Jun 2010reading all these opinions i came to a conclusion that alot of guys bought the n97 just becaus... moreI think that the lack of memory is causing users to try to jump through hoops to deal with various issues. I've encountered instances where the N97 automatically shuts down applications or the whole phone shuts down. I do find that the N97 at times is sluggish in its responsiveness or its widgets lose its connection with the source data.
reading all these opinions i came to a conclusion that alot of guys bought the n97 just because they got the cash, they really don't know how to use it!!i've been using my n85 rigth from release day and i never had that memory issue and the ram in n85 is twice less than in n97!!so before calling n97 a bad phone first learn how to use it!cheers

Even I didnt pay for SBP shell but you need to learn how can you install an unsigned application on your phone. I managed to get a signtool from a Chinese site after doing some google search so that I could install many unsigned cracked applications like quick office, adobe reader,SBP shell etc
HI CIJO
i have download the ramblow but when i start install it say certificate error?how i can intall that?
and about of the SPB mobile shell
did u know how i can register that?because i only use the trial ,,,i want to purchase that but i dont have a credit card : (
king, 29 Jun 2010hi cijo ..whatz the used of RAMblow?,,, did u know the SPB mobile shell?ramblower is an application which manages ram by constantly cleaning cache files etc so that you can run many application without crashing your phone. Since N97 do have a issue of low ram, you may find it useful and after all the application is free.
As far as SPB mobile shell is concerned, I did install it and later removed from my phone. It is an application which give you a new user interface with some nice transition effects for your phone. If you have the certificate or sign tool to sign an unsigned application, you can download it from symbiantalk.net. If you need more info, please let me know (use my name - Cijo )
any news on 3.0 release??????
This is the worst mobile i've ever had. I have it for 4 months now and it is already broken. The touch screen wont work. It is restarting itself all the time. I will never buy Nokia again !!!!
Can anyone tell me why would anyone pick this phone over an android or wm HTC in the same price group or iPhone? I mean, 128mb of ram? Thats insulting for a price like this! And the screen seems pretty small, Nexus One, Desire, HD, HD2, Touch Pro 2, they are all in the similar price range, and how better are these phones? Nexus one has 1GHZ procesor, and this one has only 434mhz, Nexus One has 512mb of ram comparing to these 128 megabytes. Pathetic, nokia, pathetic!
hi guyz,,,who is n97 user? that used the spb mobile shell?,,,
