what do you think is the most affordble here in philippines? i was planning to buy one, because n97 looks awful with something inserted on its head, and worst if you used it on landscape.lol
excellent phone with multi options for everyone to use upon his knoledge of computers
Anonymous, 12 May 2010n97 sucks! as I have mentioned few months ago, this will be the worst phone ever made by nokia... moreGo to this website www.symbiantalk.net install some software you will find your n97 best phone ever.
I just want to share my experience with anyone who is thinking about getting n97.
I have been using this phone since last year, don't remember the month exactly probably around 6 or 7 months.
The built quality is nice, I have dropped this phone no less than 10 times yet it still works perfectly fine without breaking any parts.
The voice quality, not the best, but not bad either. Camera could be better, but its fine with me, no problems.
Its not the fastest phone, but not slow either, the internet connection keeps showing up in the menu which a lot if the 3g network isn't connected.
Any1 looking for texting, the keyboard is very nice for very fast texting.
I would also like to point out that I recently purchased the sony ericsson X10 Xperia, the built quality seems better, but not sure if it will continue to work like my n97 once I drop it, the screen is no doubt bigger, looks better in everyway.
But after switching from nokia after 5 years to get the sony eric x10, I am cerntainly not happy with it.
In order to send pictures or videos from my n97 to the x10, I actually need to download a software called file explorer? Are u serious? yet the music file which is real player format which is not supported in the x10.
Another surprise!!! To check the calender I need to be signed in google? I just don't get the point of it, why do I need to be signed into google email to open the calender?
I use to think nokia menu were boring, after using the android x10, I appreciate symbian now.
Vasi, 13 May 2010The batery is Li-Polymer not Li-IonNot only do you not know how to read the specs which say N97 Battery is Li-ion,you also dont know how to spell battery.
I possess hands on experience if you know what i mean. This N97 is like having a new phone every 2-3 weeks cause that how long it takes to come back from the service centre. each time i get it back it is broken. not worko. comprehendi?
Have had this phone for 5 months now and have the latest software updates. Very unhappy with this phone. The battery life is awful and it is very very buggy. Read a bunch of forums and found out I am not the only one with these problems. Not to mention the huge design flaw that scratches the lens as you open and close the cover. Phone is garbage. Save your money and buy something better and less expensive.
Guys, i hv a peculiar prblm in my N97, after 2-3 days all the dialed numbers and all the missed numbers disappears frm the list. i dnt know why it is happening. Any1 has any idea. Thnks..
Wow! I couldn't believe that you guys are loving this phone. Or maybe you're loving it because you have no choice but to! LMFAO! UI is so so boring.. It's a good choice trading my N97 to HTC desire! You'll definitely love it!
Overall, I really like the phone. The slide out keyboard makes typing quite easy for someone used to full-sized keyboards. The pointer controller helps when trying to click on a link on a crowded page without having to zoom in.
This is my first experience with using a touch screen. I find the touch screen interface easy to use. It is quite handy when driving and I have to activate my Ovi mapping software to get around traffic backups. My only criticism of the touch screen is that when I have to drag my finger across the screen to scroll or move a card playing solitaire, I have to use my finger nail. If I simply use my finger tip, it doesn't seem to register that well. I can swipe with my finger to answer a call while the screen is locked, but scrolling doesn't work that well with my finger. Swiping works fine with my finger, but dragging needs either my finger nail or some stylus-like device such as a retracted, ball-point pen.
The phone has a proximity sensor, so if your face is pressed against it on a call, you won't press any buttons by accident. When you take your phone away from your face, the screen appears again. On a call, you will have call related buttons showing like hang up, etc.
The contact list has a voice recognition feature. I find that it works most of the time. Sometimes, it misses. I've only used voice rec on two other phones and those phones were three years old. The N97 is better than the other two in terms of accuracy.
The latest firmware upgrade is a must. Prior to the upgrade, the UI was rather sluggish and the swipe to answer feature hangs the phone after the call. Also, the ring tone seems to change from time to time. After the upgrade, the UI was much, much better and I did not encounter any of the problems I had before.
The latest firmware upgrade caused my email widget to stop working. I eventually had to download it and install it again. This was a minor glitch, but it took me several days to figure this out. Other than the email widget, nothing else was affected by the upgrade.
Other than the little bit of growing pains I had with the N97, I am very happy with it after the latest firmware upgrade.
