So neither you need to pay any data charge for installing nor to use it afterwards. Infact I dont have any data plan and I even deleted my access point for GPRS/EDGE so that even accedently I wont get charged and I am still using OVI maps without any issue.
umm...its really sad but i've decided myself that i really wanted a n86 8mp good camera...its really nice and stuff plus ive had enuf negativity from the people here saying the n97 sucks cause it hangs and stuff...nokia is nice but at the same time they never do a COMPLETE phone...theres always sumthing wrong...sorry for the negativity being brought here but its the best (talkin bout the n86 8mp)

Extremely disappointed with the N97 OVI maps for the following reasons :
1. The map needs to be downloaded through the network and has costs an excessive amount of money
2. The maps are not resident on the phone resulting in ongoing download charges
3. If I go into a new area I first need to download the map
4. How can I go somewhere if the map isn’t actually on my phone
5. I have been in areas where there is absolutely no network coverage or at best not 3G coverage. Therefor getting a map is a problem
6. The phone doesn’t store all the maps of areas where you have been
7. The network charges are ridiculous
8. When I bought the phone I had maps on the phone. The OVI maps replaced the resident maps bought which were reliable and available.
I think the result is a failure. I can’t tell you how disappointed & frustrated I am with OVI maps
Anonymous, 15 Apr 2010a certain branded name cell outlet said that the N97 is problematic phone. the slide troubles ... moreMy n97 [had for 7 months] hasnt crashed once. I have 10gb of music. Its still fast [mad themes do slow it tho.] Great phone qwerty is really nice with kenetic scrolling, :):):)
when I work all day on it,with everythin on, bluetooth, wlan, gps, videos, games and calls, my battery last for MAX 24 hours, if I do not do anything, maybe 2-3 calls per day it lasts 3.5 days, and if I use it regulary i mean not all the time but most of it it lasts 2 days...

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2010a certain branded name cell outlet said that the N97 is problematic phone. the slide troubles ... moreI have, the phone enjoys breaking on me I've had three replacements and had the reset my latest atleast twice due to it freezing and then it deletes all my files so you have to back up your files everytime you use it, it's just so unpredicable and an absolute waste of my money, please do not buy it, it's not worth the hastle.
It's a 32 GB phone yet i can't enjoy it fully, putting at least 10GB of files on it, the phone becomes soooo slowwww. Putting lots of songs make it slow too, song refreshing and poor browsing, a phone good only for display but is quite disapointing, sigh!@#$%^
can anyone pls tell me about the battery life? anyone? i am going to but this phone end of next week so i need to know.....pls do tell me the truth.. to those who never use the n97, dont reply my question..
a certain branded name cell outlet said that the N97 is problematic phone. the slide troubles and sometimes the phone freezes. can someone tell me if they experienced this thank you
Oops! I bought another big hit....nokia should be glad, I just love my new N97, my present E72, and the old E51....but the battery life is stil found wanting...I dont want waste lots of time complaining but I want to enjoy what God has given to me.
I am getting a new SD card.
Just wondering if there is a different between class 4 and class 6 speed?
I don't care about writing speed. As long as all my movies and apps plays smooth.
I heard from somewhere class 4 actually has a faster reading speed...
Please advice, thank you!
