I work for a phone company and i have seen A LOT of these phones come back with problems mostly in the first 30 days of purchase. in my opinion, this phone is unreliable and complicated.

Once you get the software on your pc, it's pretty straightforward - just connect your phone to your pc via usb, make sure the phone is connected in "PC suite mode" (it will ask you) then the software will identify your device. It will then search for any updates available. It is recommended to backup your phone's data before doing so, just in case something goes awry.

As for multitasking, I often use Nimbuzz, Opera Mini and music player in the background and I don't experience any lagging or memory errors. My homescreen widgets are also online, and the emails and Accuweather udpate while doing this. I've even received calls while doing all this, and have never experienced any problems. The only thing that happens is if I'm idle on Nimbuzz for too long (eg when I get a call) it signs itself out. The phone is perfect for my multitasking needs.

> In reply to Chris_Skylock @ 2009-11-23 17:14 from t7IsSo you did a hard reset and then you still got stuck on the Nokia logo? Are you on the latest 2.0 firmware? Maybe you've got a defective device. If you're still on a previous firmware version, upgrade to latest 2.0 firmware. That should fix the "stuck on Nokia logo" problem. As for the memory full errors, how much free c drive space do you have? I don't know why your photos were deleted unless they were stored on c drive. Make sure all data is stored on e drive so even if a hard reset won't touch it.

My Nokia N97, when battery removed, wont get pass the nokia logo if I download something from the Ovi Store. Perhaps I should get a full refund. This is the worst phone I ever bought to think I praised it toooooooooooooooooooooooo much.

Can I set the mass storage as the destination for nokia messenging?

Does the phone hang with five apps open at the same time on v20 firmware? ( opera mobile, music player, nimbuzz and video player, nokia messenging)

!@#%$%^&&*((*_)

My phone froze at start up and I need to hard reset. All my downloaded apps and games were gone and it took me 2 hours to download again. I was trying to see my personal files like photos and videos and I need to reset. BAM, not opening nor charging. it stays in nokia logo.

> In reply to Chris_Skylock @ 2009-11-23 13:07 from t7GZOh. all my files are there after hard reset but I dont know how they will appear again on the DOWNLOADS page.

Oh, When I updated the phone to v.20, it's giving me the memory full problem. so annoying. opening a photo or video is a hassle with that problem
