Julie, 19 Apr 2009I love the hands on experience. But for that you need the HARDware in your hands....
I love the hands on experience.
Lie_Z, 19 Apr 2009N97 < 500 Euro , about 660 US$ , so expensive. It is expensive to manufacture useless mechanical keyboards and flip out machanisms
N97 < 500 Euro , about 660 US$ , so expensive.
Wireless phones replaced wired ones and the same will happen with virtual keyboards replacing mechanical ones, once you get used you never go back !
Typing on glass is the way to go, mechanical keyboards, flip out are prehistoric devices, just wait and see, anything you can do with software to replace hardware
is a clear winner, remember typewriters ??

Forrester Research *gasp* recommends the iPhone for enterprise

Forrester Research's Ted Schadler put out a report today called “Making iPhone Work In The Enterprise: Early Lessons Learned,” which chronicles three companies' experiences with integrating the iPhone into their enterprise. Kraft Foods, Oracle and Amylin Pharmaceuticals all took the plunge, and their experiences were overwhelmingly good.
So good, in fact, that Forrester opened up the report with the following:
The iPhone’s intuitive interface, superior browsing experience, and rapidly evolving developer tool kit make content-centric applications far more appealing on an iPhone than on a BlackBerry or Windows Mobile device. While BlackBerry is still the email and calendaring winner, iPhone devotees do make the shift to typing on glass.”
They follow with a list of reasons that IT management should consider the iPhone.
Employees like them. “In this era of Technology Populism, where consumer IT is often better than enterprise IT, it sometimes just makes sense to give employees the freedom to choose the tools they want.”
They make mobile collaboration easier. “As anybody with experience on both iPhones and BlackBerry will tell you, the Internet feels natural on an iPhone and a like a chore on a BlackBerry.”
iPhone users need less hand-holding. “All three firms have set up wikis so that employees can support each other. ‘Our early adopters sometimes teach things we’d rather our iPhone users not know, but overall they provide better support than we can,’ said one person we interviewed.”
They can be cheaper in the long run. “In at least one case, an iPhone adopter found that the data plans for previous mobile devices were more expensive than the consumer plans AT&T is offering for iPhones. This company was able to reset its baseline plan pricing 30% lower for all phones because it supported iPhone.”
N97 fails as an Iphone competitor, this is not from an Apple fan, but from Computer world, not exactly an Apple friend !

ams5800, 19 Apr 2009Does Any one know if E97 will support Nokia VoIP or (internet calls)? As the 5800 currently... moreTo make sure get an Iphone and get Skype on the App store, VERY simple
Does Any one know if E97 will support Nokia VoIP or (internet calls)?
As the 5800 currently does not support it.
I know that i can use third party apps like Fring, but i have my own SIP PBX in my company and it needs the usual settings of the "Internet call" to use the service.
Thanks
Uh.. The N98 isn't in the same class of phones. It's more like an N70 series which had limited release in a few countries, such as Australia.
Oh, n97..
i cant believe that SAMSUNG OMNIAHD is cheaper in price than n97!!
OmniaHD has better specs, 8mp, hd video, amoled screen, scratch resistant glass, capcitive, while n97 has reisitive(cheaper than cpacitive) and others..
Nokia? what are you thinking?
I like n97, but heck Pricier than OmniaHD? no way.
