im not net holik and not wifi user, but believe me i love my black n97 soo much, its amazing no hang no restart and battery last 2.5 or 3 days easily, its really good version 22 is very fine, nokia always rocks in my opinion no one beats nokia.n97 rocks.10/10.
Has any one used these phones on the VOIP network ie:skype or talk on messanger ect.
What is the quiality like can the phone manage
I'm realy dissapointed with this phone. I had it for less than a year and now I'm having a hard time charging it. It seems like the connection point is damaged or something, coz to charge it, I must connect the charger and hold it in one steady position, any slight movement, the phone stops charging and says "battery low" even if u've been hold the same position for over 30minutes. I sent it back to Vodashop.
Anita Shah, 16 Jan 2011Now i'm used N97 white color...awesome n i like it..It's a great phone with 5mp.camera
An excellent device. Been using mine for 2 weeks now, and it's great fun. Runs 'loads' of software (SIS and JAR types), it's fast, easy to use but has plenty of extra features to keep even a fussy man like me happy :) All fully adjustable themes, appearance, sounds, menus etc. It has so much memory space in it's insane - 32Gb just for storage!! I thought it was an error till i checked properly lol.
It runs most N-Gage type games, and many of the other SIS files available (obviously not all as there are so many variants now), and the same with Java (JAR) software.
The screen is very high quality, quick to respond to touch, and all actions i've made it do so far have been fast and predictable.
Mine's crashed a couple of times so far, but I do have a lot happening at once (Skype, WiFi, music, messaging etc.). I can deal with the odd crash (twice in these 2 weeks), not a problem.
Messaging is very fast and easy to handle, with a good menu system to get things done. Camera is good (fine quality, not as good as a dedicated camera of course), volume is acceptable, and it plays most types of audio i've tried on it.
Internet works better with other browsers, tho the built-in one does far better than most other mobiles, fast and clear.
I'm not into the keyboard type myself, tho it works perfectly as it should, i dont like the keys feel, but that's just my personal opinion, i prefer glossy keys to slide over, these are a kind of grippy coated material.
Pros:- Fun, quality (except the weak charging socket), fast, many features plus fully upgradable through SIS and Java software/games.
Cons:- bad battery (im getting 2 days max), weird keypad feel, bit heavy, the keypad springs out in a powerful jump - enough to kick fone from your fingers, tacky cam-lens cover that dont really protect it from dust enough, and finally, having to take the back off to access memory card? now that's just silly :)
i've been using my n97 for about a month. Please i need links where i can download good applications. Anybody wanna help?
hey guys, its good but if you wand to sepnt money for a good cell phone, or if would like to buy a nokia handset then you can check the dedait and configration of nokia e7 communicator
wish you all the best............
if u want to buy a used n97 large. U must check it camera because mostly its lense is Scratch by its lense cover and also any dot spot by exploring n97 by different angels. Gud luck
Cijo, 14 Jan 20111)If the messages are C, move it to E, take a back up of your contacts using ovi suite or copy... moreExcellent opinion and what i would have put really .
One more thing is SOFTWARE UPDATER,this gives you things to download BUT as Cijo says put it on E-disk or dont bother with the optional extras unless vital.
n97 slow, 14 Jan 2011my c memory is nw 6mb nd i thnk my phne s got virus so i wana knw hw do clean ur c memory pls1)If the messages are C, move it to E, take a back up of your contacts using ovi suite or copy it to your sim card.
2)Do a hard reset (Caps shift+space bar+Delete and press power on/off button – for more info, just google it). It will only format your C. You will NOT loose your data stored on E or memory card.
3)After hard reset, the default memory for messages will be C. So change it to E. Also if you do not have unlimited data plan and you have a wifi network available, change your access point.
4)Do not install or try to download quick office. Rather install office suite and pdf+ both can be installed on E and it is free.
5)Install all possible apps on E. In my case, only Nokia map, Handy taskman, Nokia E mail, OVI store and a font( I dont like the default nokia font) is installed on C and I got approx 32 MB free space in C.
n97 slow, 14 Jan 2011my c memory is nw 6mb nd i thnk my phne s got virus so i wana knw hw do clean ur c memory plsI reckon i am nearly a symbian expert after years of devivces,,hands on experiance and low grade programming and understanding.
You cannot without knowledge get a symbian virus/worm/trijan without your own input or permission..
Most mobile platforms are heavily fortified and only really mimic laptop or desktop couterparts.
When you allow something onto your symbian fone it asks for your p;ermission at many levels..If the code/app/or even website gets access to yopur fone its YOU who allows it OR it gets rejected.
Some times when a theme for example is suspect it comes up "NOT COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR DEVICE"then if you carry on it may say "This theme may cause your device to not work properly" so there is a host of flash screens to get thru to put a theme on thhats incompatible, never mind anything sinister..
The most a virus/worm whatever you wish to call it ("i call is malicious software or malware")is corrupt your device and make it unoperable ..A clean wipe of the device will have you up and running again.
Next is bluetooth sinister malware..Its highly unlikly that you wouild allow a bluetooth connection to take place and YOU accept it as well and cause a piece of malware onto your device..Its not poossible to spread via bluetooth cause its range is limited and you have to accept the infection and the onbaord checks have to let it thru..
Next is txt malware..Well it wont install on a symbian device and opening a text message has never been proven to execute right away ..so virus whatever you call it unlikly.
So unless you poison your own device on purpose you will be safe and as for spreading as in the true sense of viruses/worms and the likes its just not feasable.
The 99% cause of symbian corruption of the sinister type is bad software and for that to happen You have to pres accept and accept again and accept again to let it in ,,even tho the o/s is telling you its incompatuible or corrupt software..
How to clean c-dik/drive a bit later i have some more jobs to get done..
You can download free trial of f-secure antivirus for 15 day trial and run it thru to check.
Cijo, 14 Jan 2011I would recommend to install office suite and pdf+ ( both can be downloaded for free ) rather ... moremy c memory is nw 6mb nd i thnk my phne s got virus so i wana knw hw do clean ur c memory pls
