If you want lots of apps buy a computer or get out the house more. It's not a big deal what phone to have for the next 24 months!!

But, I was really disappointed when I tried to use the QWERTY keyboard!! I felt that it's difficult to type using that keyboard, also the buttons were well-spaced but only punched up the surface, the buttons were almost flat..and AS YOU HAVE COMMENTED BEFORE that there is no full QWERTY touch in the N97 mini for messaging.. Moreover, i didn't try the touch screen in the n97 mini ..
However, it seems that I'm going to buy it for one reason, (for apps) only,, bcoz i like to have as many apps as possible in my handset. Otherwise I loved Satio but the problem is that it doesn't a big variety of apps.. Still Undecided yet..
please help me ??

Mike, 09 Nov 2009Understand your opinion about n97 mini vs Satio. But actually, the camera in Satio is not just... moreOh yeah don't doubt the satio camera is better. I mean the n97 is pretty average in terms of picture quality (even by phone standards). And the n97 software is pretty basic too. It's just... 12 MP??? Gak! With no optical stabilizer, hand shake alone is enough to make that a nonsense. Then there's the light sensitivity issue. Anyway, I agree that if camera is a top priority then go for Satio over n97.
compare to n97 and n97 mini, which is better? i'm planning to change a phone but not sure which to buy.

But actually, the camera in Satio is not just about 12.1 mpixels, it has some pretty good optics also and smart software. Compared to other smartphone cameras, Satio is outstanding, just as a decent digital camera. And the options to focus wherever you want just by touching the screen is pretty cool.
The screen in Satio is pretty big and the full-qwerty is actually quite easy to write on so there´s no problem to write sms/emails with it.
I don´t own a Satio right now, just played around with it a couple of times in shops etc. I still want to give the n97 mini a chance and waiting for it to be delivered (in Sweden) so I can try it and see how it feels.
The advantage of the n97 mini I think is the ovi/nokia maps (seems not to be available for Satio) with the offline search capabilities and maybe the physical keyboard and also that the device is a bit smaller in size.
But when it comes to a camera, n97 mini is (even if the camera seems to be ok) waaay behind Satio ;)!
Anonymous, 09 Nov 2009Is there touch-full QWERTY keyboard ?? I know there is a physical keyboard..But it be better ... moreNo touch QWERTY - except on the Opera Mobile browser. I was in two minds about getting the Satio or the N97 mini, and decided against the Satio partly cos I think a 12 MP camera on a phone is crazy. I don't want to pay for something that's basically marketing hype. I was tempted by the n86, which has the best camera of any phone imho. But screen resolution was too low.
The Satio has a faster processor too. But at the end of the day the physical keyboard on the N97 won me over. I like to be able to see what I'm writing, rather than have it all squidged up in a little box.
Y question, 09 Nov 2009Look like nokia has learned from n97 classic! How does the gps receiver perform? And the 1... moreThe GPS receiver - I got nothing to compare it with except my TomTom, and it's not as fast as that! But seems to do OK when outside, travelling on the train etc. I wandered around our local park with google maps on satellite mode, and it followed me from tree to tree pretty well :) I'm currently charging it every day, but then I am using it heavily. Only used it to send one email today - just checked the charge and it's on full still from last night. So when I go into 'normal usage' I expect it will last 3 days or so.
does anybody know if the N97 Mini has any software faults. i am interested in getting one for my upgrade. i have the N95 8GB wich has been perfect.
mike, 09 Nov 2009Hi, nice to hear that you´ve got a n97 mini. How´s the gps? Does it find the satellites fast j... moreworks fine. i got a lock on the satellite signal in less that 1 minute. navigation was quite good too.

And camera Len scratch proof?
Hi All, does anyone know if one can assign different SMS Alert Tone to different contacts in N97 Mini?
or which models of Nokia have this feature? please, i really would want to know this before I buy one. i hope someone can help me.
stephanie, 09 Nov 2009i'm still undecided on this phone. is it better than an iphone? and can you download itunes for it?I've had it now for just over a week, and I love it. Looks like they got the software bugs sorted. Everything works fine, and the keyboard is sweet. Is it better than an iphone? Well, the camera is better, and I like the resistive touch screen (it's easier to 'click' on the links when web surfing, especially if they are small). I think a lot of people prefer capacitative touch screens though).
The live homescreen widgets are great. The interface is still not as smooth as an iphone, I think, but there's not that much in it.
There's not as many apps, though to be honest there are so many apps on the Ovi store, with more appearing all the time, that I don't have enough time to browse through them all as it is. Plus there are loads of other apps floating around on the net.
I think bottom line it comes down to whether you want a real keyboard or not. For me, that really seals the deal. If you need to write stuff (like emails or comments on web pages like this) then the n97 wins hands down.
I have own a n6110 for 2 years, decided to change to a new phone. so went down to cuppage centre to have a look @ n97 as was nearby. I was very lucky to have a feel of the life set of both n97. N97 mini is cherry garnet and N97 is white. with both phone on my hand, they wheigh almost the same although on spec mini is lighter by 12g. Mini feels more metal and N97 feels more plastic. Size wise I still like N97.
