Does anyone have anything good to say about the Nokia N97 mini? I was going buy one this week but am very hesitant after reading so many negative comments. Please enlighten me!
Jacob Zuma, 29 Sep 2010Which 3 fones do u think rival the n97 mini, i need options.samsung omnia hd, sony ericsson satio and last but not the least, moto droid. All three are better. but if you look year 2011 in prospect, N8 and samsung galaxy S holds the key.
I have a Simple question (which might help few people to take decision whether to go for this phone or not)...How do you call 800 NISSAN or 800 LG on this expensive N97 Mini Phone? Can anyone suggest me?
Kim, 27 Sep 2010Guys does anyone know of the mini giving earphone problems. . . ? I have just returned my and ... moreWell, I m using N97 Mini from past 6 months. Earphones supplied with the COSTLY N97 Mini are pair of CRAP! SHAME NOKIA! The sound quality is poorer than the cheapest of the Chinese headphones. I m an avid Music Lover and earlier had an xpressmusic phone (I think 5310). I still use the earphones supplied with that phone. They are working excellent. But let me comment, the clarity of Music is much better in a CHEAPER xpressmusic phone than N97 Mini. 5 MP Camera gives good videos but not-up-to-mark Images result. Overall N97 Mini is NOT a Value for Money.
how do i turn OFF the dictionary (word options) when writing a text message. It annoys me greatly.
Khijir Ahmad, 28 Sep 2010This set is good for working with QWERTY Keyboard with sliding angle. Camera is good. Fetchers... moreI don't think it is an issue with your phone. Bcoz many of my frnds including me facing the same problem in different phones. So I think that it is an error with opera.. Just try re-installing it..
this fone is really jhantoo, piece of junk. Symbian s60v5 has failed to deliver... slow and boring.
the phone is good but littile bit slow, and the wifi net also slow then e series
This set is good for working with QWERTY Keyboard with sliding angle. Camera is good. Fetchers are good too.
But I am facing problem with data connection. When I am browsing on Opera mobile/mini some times the application closes without any reason. Sometime it happens it I fold or unfold the slide.
And the other major problem is with it's microUSB port. Sometimes it connects and sometimes it doesn't. Same for USB charging or charging by original charger. For last few days Original charger is not working with it. But this charger is fine with other sets.
N97 mini's battery sucks a big time. Set also hangs frequently and screen is scratch prone.
Even E72's battery stays longer than n97mini's.
When you manufacture a set with big screen and with multitasking abilities, u also need to complement it with big battery (like original 97's battery) and more RAM and processor (like omnia HD last year).
Looking forward to N8 and E7 really. Expectations are high.

Kim, 27 Sep 2010Guys does anyone know of the mini giving earphone problems. . . ? I have just returned my and ... moredid u mean the headset that is on the package?
i think there's nothing wrong with it, you just need to push it harder inside the hole of the 3.5 jack and see what happens.
Guys does anyone know of the mini giving earphone problems. . . ? I have just returned my and got a replacement and this one is doing the same. Earphones are working on nokia 5800 but not on the N97 mini could this be a problem batch or what... ? I don't want to return this one again...
At the time when 1 Ghz processor speed and at least 256 MB Ram scenarios are becoming features of the top notch mobile handsets, this N97 mini seems to be an outdated choice for many. But what one can simply do? It's sort of a technology's curse. This does happens when you don't keep abreast with the technological advances or simply delay the launch of a product until technology becomes obsolete or advances to the next stage. Latter is the Nokia's case.
I am not comparing products here but just talking about technology and first mover's advantage scenario. Take for instance N8's example... first Nokia with 12 mega pixel shooter and an amoled screen. Samsung got that 12 mega pixel in a mobile phone long time back and have also now climbed up to super amoled screens. So, its obvious that amoled is obsolete if you compare it with super amoled technology.
If you don't keep pace with the technology, you will be behind in the race and that is where I feel N97 mini has failed to deliver... to deliver up to the expectations of many people like me who keep on waiting so long for new handsets from Nokia to be released that by the time they actually are, technology advances ahead hence making its features somewhat obsolete to compare it with the recent one.
