Hi, Just bought New Atom yesterday replaced my O2 Mini (got stolen last week).
I have problem with the messaging email, cannot compose and cannot open the mail. The sychronisation work properly.
Any suggestion what might be the cause of the problem?

Atom - the fastest PocketPC Phone out there!
Do you know you can overclock most Atom to 728Mhz and run it stable? I am using XCPUScalar (you can download an eval copy) and it works really well with the Atom. I can now run anything that requires high CPU - Skype, games, emulators, etc... and they all fly on the Atom!
One problem I have noticed - when you are at 728MHz you will not be able to turn the power off - you wont be able to turn it back on again without a soft reset. Leaving it at 663Mhz will solve this problem. At 728Mhz I could run whatever I want for however long I want and it is rock solid.
Some tasks that even 728MHz is not sufficient - streaming high quality video and using bluetooth stereo headphones (A2DP) - this will bring even 728MHz to a crawl. Bluetooth Stereo requires a great deal of CPU power - even 728MHz is just sufficient. I have no idea how people with 300-500MHz CPU going to be able to use Bluetooth Stereo headphones and watch video at the same time.
Just my experience, your mileage may vary.

One more thing, anybody know how to set MP3 ringtone. I've moved the MP3 file to Windows\Rings directory. It shows on the phone ring selection, but i cannot play & directly adjusted to Windows Default.

I've upgraded with the latest ROM, self test everything is okay, but 2 problem still persist:
1. When clicking the start button, the click sound is rather not right, like a broken speaker, even when was muted, the sound is still there.
2. Sometimes when we have missed call, the Midi ringtone was still played (hang) for quite a while.
Any suggestions from this forum? Tks

I was thinking to puchase o2 atom. but after the reviews I have read, I am a bit confused. It looks good, has good features & much more, SO GUYS can u please sugest me should I or should I not go for it? & any other good Phone?

Hey guys, any of u tried the atom compared to Eten m600??
From the posts of both, it seems that once the ROM is updated, almost all bugs r ironed out...but i was wondering about the speed n performance of these 2 before i decided to get which??

after downloading the newest ROM, my atom works like a wonder better than other previous models ive owned. it is suggested to get the newest Rom ASAP for current Atom users and for 'PDA seekers' Atom is the way to go, forget other brands as their design and quality will not match o2 phones (which explains why it is more expensive than the rest!!) i put my word on it

This O2 mini S or Imate Kjam will recognize hand writing.
Between O2 Atom ( Intel 416 MHz)and Imate Kjam(TI OMP 850 200 Mhz) which one will be better. Price wise not much difference.

I bought Atom couple days ago (the new rom upgrade one). Can anyone tell me how can I access to call history or contact in phone prompt menu by don't have to use stylus? I mean like the mini one when I press up button the call history will be shown.

Hai, I'm Apple from Malaysia. May i know,it is O2 XDA ATOM is New Model. Why in O2 XDA ATOM don't have Chinise words. Just only have English. This O2 XDA ATOM, is good and perfect, but one thing is dont have Chinese words and chinese language. In my opinian, i think any mobile phone or Pc Pocket should have Chinese Language and words, Not just English language only. Actually i interesting want to buy this O2 XDA ATOM,but dont have chinese language. If i buy , i need to waiting the program to download chinese words. But i don't know , how long want to wait the program because i will went back to Australia for study on MARCH. I very hope that....... O2 XDA ATOM, have chinese language and pinyin. Finally , thanks you very much take a time to read my question . Hope i can get the answer. Thanks

My very first PPC phone. Before upgrading the rom, the software sucks. After upgrading, it works perfectly fine. Louder sound, able to put mp3 as ringtone and more. The only think is the Checksum prob. Anybody knows wat's the prob means?

I have now got no problems with 02 Atom, those that still have problems have you upgraded to the new Rom there is a second Rom out and there should be no problems now if you it installed right. well its 90-95% fixed. guys when performing the update don't run other programs (eg surf the net), use a power supply which is a true 360+ volt for good constant power supply to the usb and use the usb on the back of the computer (motherboard). if you want more help just email me adslcyrr@tpg.com.au good luck!!

after all the reviews available online, u'd have to be an idiot to go buy this phone. total flop! imate/ dopod 818 pro cheaper and no problems with having to soft reset twice a day.

just a waste of money . nothing right.checksum test #Fail.notification light keeps on blinking even wen checked.. many many more problems. ATOM just sucks

this pda phone is a let down compared with the old mini. got it for a few day and i am mad with it, serveral time freeze need to do a softreset , dame slow even after rom upgraded , o2 u better have new rom coming soon

I am eager to try the SMS tone. Do u think if its possible to send me a sample copy of the converted SMS tone to my email? Feel like trying to use other software to convert to that format if possible coz don't feel like spending...hee hee

1)Yes, setting sms tones is enabled by getting Ringo software. Hmm... setback is u will only have a few sec of the song being played when sms is recieved & it stopped soon after, thus it won't rang continuously even u dismiss the sms or already reading it.
Windows media player is free to get from www.download.com or http://www.microsoft.com/windo...ownload.aspx
And I would advise using wma format for it.
2)Regarding movies, yes, I downloaded additional softwares.
I'm using PocketTV (PocketTV Classic is FREE for personal use) & SmartMovie (which required to pay).

Format for PocketTV is mpeg wherelse SmartMovie is in AVI (need not worry abt the conversion as downloading will provide us with a converter. More informations can be found at it's website).
