The SDIO Wifi card works on the Mini. But make sure you buy the version that has a 256MB memory built-in. One word of caution. The drivers and application for the SD card HAS TO BE INSTALLED INTO THE PHONE MEMORY and not the SD card. Therefore, this severely limits the amount of memory you have left on the phone. As it occupies another slot, you can't surf and save the webpages for offline reading later on. So, it makes sense to buy the SDIO Wifi with a built-in 256MB memory.
VPN tunnelling over a fixed IP situation should not pose a problem. However, the only thing is whether you have the necessary applications to authenticate yourself into the office server. If yes, that should not be a problem either.

Agree with Jeffrey that the quality of the camera suckz.....

Apart from that, the Mini is a relatively capable phone/pda.

Hi Mini Mania
Glad to know you got the Mini !!!
U can try to download the Flash player from Macromedia.com. They have a flash plug-in for Pocket PCs and it is a really small file. Yup, the Windows/Ring folder is the default folder if you wanna store MP3 there as ring tones, however, this eats into your memory space. Therefore, I won't wanna do that. To turn off the phone, just press and hold the power button...it works on my set. Maybe yours is faulty?? Hehehehe....

Frederic, you can download the online instruction, manuals, games, ringtones from www.myxda.com, www.clubimate.com
If you wanna download programs, goto www.handango.com or pocketgear.com. You can download the trial programs there before deciding to buy it or not.
www.xda-developers.com is also another good site.

Bought a XDAII mini a month ago. Installed only Mnote software and have not install any other software since then. However, after 2 weeks, the power button just not functioning. Long or short press has no effect at all. Send in for repairs and 10 days later they decided to change a new set for me without explaining what was the problem. So never occurs to me could be a software conflict. So install Mnote again. 3 days later the power button does not functioning again. This time symptom slightly different. Long press of the power button the backlight on and off working fine. However, short press will hang the system and required re-booting. FRUSTRATING. No matter what I did, soft or hard reset and remove Mnote software, it just does not help.
HELP needed before I send in for repairs again.
Thanks.

i bought an xda ii mini last month...and i sold it already!

for those people who are interested on GOOD image and camera capabilities...xda ii mini is NOT GOOD!!! the camera and resolution of the images captured are really bad!!! you will be disappointed...trust me!!!

BUT aside from the very poor performance of the camera....xda ii mini is GREAT!!!

A phone that has it all!!! ...except good quality image capture...

To Fotonutz;

Hi buddy, i had bought o2 mini yesterday n i enjoy it at all.
but i have a bit problem about it.
i wondering how to turn off the phone at all...i read on the manual that say to turn off the phone by push n hold power button for 2 sec, i've tried it but it doesn't turn off the phone but turn off the backlight,if i press the button once the device will turning off with blank screen n keylock (but the phone still on).
ow man have i miss some technic...

i can't choose all of my mp3 file that store in SDcard for use as ringtone,n i realize that file just will shown if i copy it to "windows/rings" folder,is that the only folder for mini to save the ringtone file???

I'm now using XDAIIs la. I think it likely the same as XDAII loey la. Anyway, At first I loved XDA Mini 1.3M pixel camera na. But then discovered that 1.3M camera just give same quality of image as 0.3M of XDAII or XDAIIs. That's why I choose to use XDAIIs instead. Actually I think XDA mini camera is not good enough to be a criteria for buying it but XDAIIs WIFI is a significal benifit for me. How do u think krab?

Has anyone tried to use the Mini as a wireless modem?

I tried connecting my notebook to the Mini via the USB cable, activated the Wireless modem and click on Start. The first dialog box that popped up was "COM OPEN ERROR". Even though I've disabled Activesync as mentioned in the instructions.

Need to configure this in case I am out of reach from the wifi hotspots.

Yup, you are able to assign Group Contact Ringtones or even an individual ringtone.

Wrt the ringtone profile, sadly, there is only Ring, Vibration or Off. However, you can set it to ring/vibrate at the same time. Good if you are in someplace noisy and you can't hear it ringing.

Battery life is short if you use the PDA function. This is typical of most PPC devices. However, you can improve battery life by reducing brightness, turn off bluetooth and IR when not in use. With this, I can get the Mini to last one working day without any problems. If you don't use the PDA function at all, it will last you two days as listed in the manual.

However, I always have a mini-USB connector in my office or even my car. That way, my Mini always has plenty of 'juice' whenever it needs a drink power!!!
