Hi Mini Mania
There is a SMS delivery report to tell u when the SMS was successfully sent or not.
When composing a SMS, click on TOOLS, OPTION & you'll see the delivery report.

No dude,
It doesn't work that way. The Bluetooth earpiece is only meant for phone conversations and not an audio earpiece per se.
It cannot be used to listen to MP3 or watching movies in silence. If you want to do that, you still need to use the wired earpiece.

However, I heard they are coming out with some Bluetooth devices that can do that, can someone confirm this?

Yeah....wave files are huge!
In fact, I wouldn't dare convert an entire MP3 audio into wav. A 3MB MP3 file might end up to 20MB or more. Not ideal for ring tones. This is an inherent attribute of wav file as there is minimal or no compression at all.
Currently, there is no way to reduce the file size of the wave files unless you cut down on the bitrate. But as you've mentioned, the quality degradation is almost unacceptable. The only logical way is to hope that the people at Microsoft comes up with a firmware upgrade to make the PocketPC Phone Edition accept MP3, midi or wma as a MMS/SMS alert...

However, my P800 doesn't seem to have a problem converting accepting converted wav or MP3 files. I am using Creative's Wave Studio as well as SoundForge to convert some of my audio files. So far, most of the audio files I've converted works on my Mini as well as the P800.

Did you check Download.com for any audio conversion files which may help you solve the problem?

To Fotonutz:

I've follow ur advise about convert mp3 to wave, but i've a prob that i realize the wav file hv change to a huge file size,n if i set the bitrate down & bit depth to 8bit, the size will reduce to half, but the quality is so poor. do you hv any idea to make wav file with most tiny size?? i've try convrt to wav using mp3 compress (not PCM uncompress),the result is the file size was tiny but can't playback on my p900. i wondering it could play in O2 mini.. how bout u say...??

Hi Mini Mania

Haha....Looks like you have the same problem as I did. I tried to select some other tunes for my SMS/SMS alerts, but all I can find a the few tones. Using the File Explorer, you'll realise that the Alarm, Connection and SMS/MMS tones are basically wave files. If you want to use MP3 or Midi files, you'll have to convert it to wave. Managed to convert some of my SE-P800 tones like Lithium & Tapto into wav so that I can use it on the Mini. Use Microsoft's Sound recorder or any other MIDI-WAV converters from download.com

As for the MMS, I don't seem to have any problems receiving or sending any picture files. Try sending it back to your own account. It should work if you've set up the MMS settings correctly. Initially, I had problems sending and receiving MMS from my friends. Then I checked the net and realised I need to have two configs in my CONNECTION settings. One is for GPRS(internet) and the other is for GPRS(MMS). So, you might wanna check back with your telco's webpage.

With regards to the SMS/MMS report, I can't find it here either.....strange. Never realised this feature isn't here until you brought it up.
Does anybody know if there is a delivery report for SMS or MMS ?

Can we set the (O2 mini) message(SMS/MMS) ringtone with the mp3 file?
I mean that when receive sms/mms mini
will playback the mp3 file that was set up, p900 've no problem with that.

Is that 've any prob with mini when send/receive MMS?
Coz i read on the other forum that say mini on some condition 've a prob to download picture attachment via MMS,is that true?

I need to know does the O2 mini have any "SMS Report" feature like normal HP?
Coz i usually use this feature so i can know that my sms was sent succesfully.

please give me some answer...

To yah all sssuckkkks,
Fyi, this is 1st time I posted a question in this forum and Fotonutz doesn't know me, but is helpful enough to reply me.
I have yet to buy the mini, have only played with my cousin-in-law's set, so you want me to give half past six answers to all the good people here?

On the contrary, i find ur feedback extremely useful in helping me make my decision on the Jam. Your links helped a lot too.
Those links addressed 80 % of my queries.
Perhap "all ya sucks" shd go to the link & read it.

Nightmare just on the 1st day XDA mini in my hand. I am still happy with P910i, O2 mini is my 1st XDA bought in HK. Display & looks nice, the camera is terrible, at fair light still got a lot of white noise, the respond is fast compare to P910. I haven't tried usb connect, just play around standalone. Modify the screen tap sound to on, the screen freeze for long enough.. I open the battery and put it back, since then the XDA mini never on again..just dark screen with none led on.
Just return to shop, no upgrade availlable in O2 Hong Kong, they replace with the new one and the nightmare still to come...

To Ya all Succkks....

Guess it is difficult to address an answer back to someone else when they don't have the basic courtesy and leave their name or nick. Guess it shows the level of maturity you have here.

i have been using O2 PDAs for a very long time...xda, xdaII, and recently, the XDA II MINI!!!!!!!!

i have to be honest people, dont get too excited with the XDA II MINI coz it's not worth-buying...i did regret buying the mini!

REASONS WHY O2 MINI IS NOT GOOD...
1.the battery is the WORST i have ever encountered
2.the battery will not last for a day!
3.you always have to reset and reboot the hard drive everytime it hangs up, turned off, and rans out of battery!!!
4.it's too expensive for the feautures it offers!

THIS IS THE TRUTH!!!! BASED ON EXPERIENCE!!! DONT BE FOOLED!!!
