Hi, O2 mini mania

i've a plan to get one the mini, now i use sony p900.
I wanna ask u guyz, especially the user of O2 mini, i need 2 know that;

Can we set the (O2 mini) message(SMS/MMS) ringtone with the mp3 file?
I mean that when we receive any sms/mms mini will playback the mp3 file that set up, p900 've no problem with that.

Is that 've any prob with mini when send/receive MMS?
Coz i read on the other forum that say mini on some condition 've a prob to download picture attachment via MMS,is that true?

I need to know does the O2 mini have any "SMS Report" feature like generally HP?
Coz i usually use this feature so i can know that my sms was sent succesfully.

ok i think that enough. THx 2 u 4 answer
i really apreciate it...

For those who are contemplating buying the Mini, check out the following site.

For someone who had used the Ericsson R380, Nokia 9000, SonyEricsson P800, Motorola E680 and now the Mini, the Mini is THE BEST !!! However, it still lags something that is present in the R380.....Fax capability !

Hi LoonTood,
The IE that is bundled with the Mini is not a full-fledge browser. Therefore, certain applets that requires Java JVM will not work if you do not have it.
Goto insigniasolutions.com or nsicom.com to download the trial. You'll have to buy the full-version from Handango.

HP
The audio playback on the Mini is normally quite high. But then again, it will also depend a lot on the encoding process. If you set the bitrate to 128, the audio quality is faithfully reproduced when you play it on the Mini. However, if you reduce the bitrate, I find that the audio quality suffers...no stereo, monotonus sound, etc. However, setting a higher audio bitrate consumes more memory space.

TO Unknown
If you use a 1GB SD card, it tends to slow down when you open file explorer especially when you have a lot of files inside there. It is not so much of the file size, but the number of files.
I tried to transfer a 30 webpages totalling 8MB with about 1000+ small files and it takes longer to download a single 30MB movie file on USB2.0

QUESTION...

Do you still have to reboot the memory of the Xda II mini everytime the battery ran out? Does it still have the same problem regarding that issue to the old model xda II?

....BUT I WANT TO KNOW WHAT ARE THE NEGATIVE ASPECTS OF THE XDA II MINI!!!

For the people who already have the MINI, what are the things that you DONT LIKE about the MINI???

To Fotonutz:
I understand that Nokia 9500 can be use to access DBS internet banking, but not O2 mini, is there any browser that i can buy from the internet to access internet banking with O2 mini (I mean a full version browser with better encryption).

You said there is one shop in Sim Lim who is bundling the O2 Mini with a 1GB SD Card, you have the unit no.?

Thank you!

Johnson,
You need to configure your phone to access the GPRS Internet first.
Once you've done that, you're only 7 steps away from configuring your mailbox.

To configure your mail, you'll need to open Messaging, click on Accounts followed by New Accounts.

1. Key in Mail address
2. AUTO CONFIG: Let the phone perform a GPRS test. If not, click on SKIP
3. USER INFO: Key in your login name and password
4. ACCOUNT INFO: Key in your mailbox ID or name so that you can identify whose e-mail account it is, ie Fotonutz Yahoo, Fotonutz MSN,etc.
5. SERVER INFO: Key in the POP and SMTP.
6. OPTION : Allows you to select whether you want 2,3, 7, 14 days of mail to read and download. Also set the mail size to be downloaded. 2KB is sufficient if you are just browsing the headers....
7. FINISH.

To unknown, if you are staying in SG, it's at level 5 of Sim Lim Square. Just take the bubble lift to level 5 and turn left. Think it is a laptop shop or something like that.

Any MAC address restrictions on your wireless router?
Are u able to get an IP on the Mini & if so, does a Ping test work?
