i've had the neo for about 6 wks and it is so far excellent for my needs, having had the jasjar, jam,hp 6515,audiovox 6600, i-mate pda2, this has been the most stable pda/phone of them all!!

pros: size,i-mate rom (allows more storage than i had with the jasjar),2 MP camera allows me to use for good res. in my medical practice!(i can now avoid a digital camera in my other pocket!),one-handed use with the pad is nearly the same as the ultimate sony jog wheels, screen display,mini-usb,min. soft resets(most stable wm 5.0,jasjar was essentially unuseable with addition of any software programs.
cons:battery life is average(awaiting extended one),skype will not work, speaker on back.

all in all a fantastic device for my needs...i may actually keep it longer than my previous record of 1.5 years with the samsung i700!!

You could perhaps instead enroll for a German language course ;-)

The phone is awesome. One thing that is driving me insane is the German language. I unfortunatelly don't know it. Can someone please tell me what is the best way to instal/translate/reinstal the phone in ALL-ENGLISH. Thanks.

I bought a O2Xda Neo recently. I could not synchronize MS Outlook information (contacts/mails/tasks/notes)with my PC over Bluetooth connection with Microsoft Activesync 4.1 software. But it works with Infrared and USB. Bluetoth connection is only OK for file transfer from PC to Xda or from Xda to PC. Is there something wrong with my device, any of the bluetooths or Microsoft Activesync does not support bluetooth connection although it says so... I need your support. Thanks in advance... TUNCAY

Using it for he past 7 days, seems it is more of a PDA than a phone, specially for those who are used to SMsing thru their Nokia phones,
The english version of the manual is there on this page.
To get the english version of microsoft activesync- follow the link in german activsync and download the english version and presto! now you have both the english manual as well as the english activesync.

To add to what I have already posted:

For: The Neo runs much longer than the Mini on one charge. And I suppose the memory is static in the Neo, is it?

Against: The ring volume is a tad lower than the mini.
The themes do not look as good - maybe because this is WM 5 device...

Recently graduated from a Mini to a Neo (Found the Atom too expensive, and too few WOW features, for an upgrade) and my reaction to it is a mixed bag. Looks as cool as the mini, but the speed is definitely an issue. One review said that the 200 Mhz would not make much of an issue since it was like comparing an AMD with an Intel processor which have different speeds quoted but not much of a difference in performance. Using the Neo though exposes the time lag - nothing is instant, so the processor is really a downgrade. I personally found the mini very easy to use, so that is another downie with the Neo.

On the plus side - the all black body looks cool. With the mini, there was a slight colour variation at the back between the battery cover and the body. The WiFi is awesome - adding a SDIO WiFi card on the mini used to do the trick for me, but that meant I could not save anything big since the card took the place of my SD card. Moreover, the Neo supports 2 GB cards so that is great. I like the communication manager, and the camera is way better, though I still find it redundant. I would gladly trade the camera for a processor that rocks....
