Well, the O2 XDA Trion has officially burned out on me. The LCd screen is just plain blacked out, and it will not come on, yet it seems that I can receive phone calls!! I just cannot see the screen anymore. I even tried removing teh battery, resetting the device etc - nothing.
Dam these phones burn out fast! Let's see if import GSM will replace it.
and can u tell me where i can down load applications such as ir remote control for tv or programes
i bought a 02 xda trion off a mate but i has no ring or music sounds why is this can i do anything to get it back i tried all the menu thing like volume and stuff cant get it to active sync either i just got the handset no box or accessories email me with any info thanks
I just wanted to know if you are able to type text using the QWERTY keyboard with only 1 hand??? I really like everything about this device but I sometimes hate the hassle of having to tap the screen or slide the keypad & have to use 2 hands just to type 1 word (I'm always on the go). I know you might tell me to not get a SLIDE phone/pda but I have to have all the specs of this device, plus I like the design & all.
One other thing; can anybody post a picture taken from this pda?
Also, how's the quality of the LCD? I dont know if I like the 65K colors...is the LCD sharp?!
PLEASE I need a response from a user of this PDA.
Thanks in advance
It says that this phone was announced in May and is available. However when I contacted my O2 service provider they are telling me that it might only be released on 27/11/06? Are the Trion's readily available in the UK or is it just the Service Provider who does not have them released yet?
Thanks for the insight Alan duly noted :)
One thing I recently found is that this phone does support A2DP - it's a FANTASTIC way to listen to MP3s via Bluetooth and wireless headphones. MP3's sound incredible with clear CD quality. Now I know why the phone does not have an input jack for wired headphones. :-)
2Z15, yes, there is the o2 xda flame with reportedly 3.6" VGA touchscreen!
starscream, trust me. i dun believe any telco is running hsdpa yet coz it is 3.5g. UMTS is 3g. we are still at 3g. is just that ur phone is for the future n u dun have to buy any new phone when hsdpa is launched :-)
regarding conference calling, the phone itself does support 3-way calling if you have it with your carrier...otherwise NO. You can use skype with multiple parties as an alternative on this phone. I hate listening on the outer speaker however.
Allan, I read teh articles, but trust me, I've had the phone for months and it nevers picks us HSDPA only UMTS so it does NOT have 3.5G wioreless as I mentioned - only 3G. Maybe its different in the US, if you are using this phone in USA, let me know what carrier is provoding 3.5G - but I use Cingular and it UMTS is teh only speed it can pick up.
Can someone please tell me if this phone has conference call option. Thanks.
The O2 XDA does NOT support 3.5G(HSDPA) @ 1.8Mb speeds. It only supports UMTS @ 384kb speeds. Bali, MicroSd is the most miniature SD card out right now the approximate size of your pinky fingernail to get an idea.
The O2 XDA Trion does not have a jack to plug in headphones! If you listen to MP3's it will be using the external speaker.
I was not too dissapointed as I have an Ipod I use of Mp3's.
is there any new pocket pc phone coming from o2 in 3.5" screen size in near future?if yes than when? i am looking for big screen size ( 3.5" ) pocket pc phone from o2.
is it support HSDPA (HIGH-SPEED DOWNLINK PACKET ACCESS) ??? cuz in my country marketing campaign, said that this Trion (known as Dopod 838 pro) support HSDPA...Kinda confuse of buying P990 or Trion..
Spoke to o2 uk today and they say the XDA Zinc and XDA Graphite will be the next releases on 15th Jan 2007.
is the mp3 in stereo? and the sound quality is it good when listening mp3 on headphones or earphones? bcoz i dont want to carry a phone and mp3 player at the same time. And is it available in Middle East specially in Kuwait and for how much in Kuwait dinars or in US dollars? Tnx...
