Looks nice BUT i won't get it. I tried it once and frankly, it doesn't blow me away. It works like the HTC Hermes though the touchscreen seems less responsive than the Hermes. Disappointing. Quite a few interesting new gadgets from the 3GSM Congress. I especially like the stuff from Nokia and HTC.

OK, so I have been testing the Zinc for over a month now. I have gone through 3 Firware upgrades and 3g finally seems to be working. Agian the unit is nicely made and attracts attention when using it around becuase it is so new. Battery life has improved and easily get a full day out of it. Exchange push emial works great, and so does 3rd party email software. Just so you know I am not a professional tester, my company happens to buy many O2's each year so they gave me one to test. Not my full time job.

this XDA look like the most practical in terms of style but its also quite descreat aswell as it doesn't look like a mini entertainment system but when you look a bit closer this seems more complex than a necleur weapon i looks like something james bond would use to stear his aston around with lookin very kwl

Hi Brian,
I do have the XDA EXEC and cannot send info via Bluetooth. Can it be done with the ZZINK model? How can it be done with the XDA EXEC or do I need 3rd Party software? I can't even send contacts with Bluetooth to another phone?

Please help me out on this.

hi brian, quick question - how do you become a tester for these devices? Are you a full time tester or do you test the device alongside your normal work? I am very interested to find out more, would appreciate any insight you can give.

Thanks!

i have been testing the Zinc for several weeks. I have been having an aweful time with screen alignment. I align the screen 6 times a day and it still does not remain aligned for more then an hour. I think it is the landscape view messing with it. Does anyone know of a fix for this? I contact O2, but have not heard yet.

MSNt, close but no cigar. Though its form factor strikingly looks the same, it is NOT another HTC Hermes (aka Tytn) nor a re-branded HTC unit.

The O2 XDA Zinc is in fact an Asus Mars II. If you check carefully this O2 XDA Zinc (aka Asus Mars II) distinctly has an Intel 520 Mhz cpu, has miniSD, has a real headphone audio jack and is triband only without HSDPA (!); whereas the Hermes/Tytn has a Samsung 400Mhz cpu, microSD, proprietary ExtUSB doubling as headphone jack (!), and quadband HSDPA.

Check it out yourself at http://www.phonearena.com/html...-a_1643.html and http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=p...=662&id2=506 sites.

NOTE: Both Zinc/Mars and Tytn/Hermes are also incomplete and lacking support in same areas, i.e., they have no built-in GPS and no built-in FM radio thus no TMC.

Bored because modified from dopod838 & dopod 838pro. They hav to build up a new bombastic design and not to make a similar with the other model/ brand..

PDAfan

It looks like the HTC Hermes cos it is a HTC Hermes you plonker!

02 use re-branded HTC units (among others) for their XDA range

i'd take this over the exec if only because it looks less bulky, and still has everyting but the kitchen sink.
