At last, got this phone today pre-owned at a great deal. I find it better than my previous Dopod 838. Back to PDA.

My o2 does not hard reset nor soft reset..
I need to format the cell so i can get ride of all the previous date which is in the cell.

well i just got a prob wth my handy.... i cannot process call at this moment,,, when i tap the phone icon it doest show up or it doesnt function well it will just appear on the upper screen and dissappear again,,,, please help me on this

I am thinking of buying this phone so i want to know that can i extend my memowy card to 8gb Will it support if yes than what is the maximum number of gb it can support

Great phone. Had it for around a month, been having the time of my life with it. All I can say is to purchase this phone as new as possible and as good condition as possible. I was lucky to get a new one and it is great. One or two snags but could have been solved without the need to call the support line. So worth buying.

I've had the O2 Zinc for about a year now and it's been the best phone I've had since I moved to Dubai three years ago. There's been a few quirks once and awhile but for the most part it's been a great phone. Guess it depends on where you buy it. I don't understand so many people having so many problems with this phone. I think it's great and I would buy it again.

terrible.never bought that a phone gave so much problems.it hangs perpetually.buttons jam a lot of times.when a call comes in, the recieve button jams, so you end up missing calls.the battery life is definitely not up to 5 hrs.it runs down so quick.used the O2 xda 11,before changing to zinc.its a big dissapointment

I bought O2 Zinc from Singapore in Aug 2007 and since then I have been facing hanging problem at least 2 - 4 times in a day,voice breaks, speaker isn't great voice creeks, the person I am talking hears some kind of strange voices like aliens. Throw ur money in dustbin rather then buying this set

I have zinc for almost 5 months, it used to be hanging 2-3 times per day, O2 support here in Dubai changed the board 2 times, still the same, I tried to sell it but was paid 30% of its original price (before they know that it hangs), i fed up with it and I replace it temporary with old Nokia.
I think Iwill go for "Sony Ericsson P1i"

i just bought this handphone for 2 months nd now i sold it already.. dont buy this handphone... mostly hang.. hang ... nd hang.. must restart nd must soft restatr sometimes must go inside the system with save mode... it happened alot...

i personally don recommend pple to buy o2 zinc. i'm using it now and it is giving me a lot of problems. e call volume is very soft even after setting it to the max. u will nd a bluetooth headset or a earpiece to talk on the phone or else you wont b able to heard anything. a lot of softwares problems too. the speaker gives off a buzzing sound. there are a lot a lot a lot more problems. i went sent in my zinc for repair 3 times but the problems are still present. i down to the repair center and demand for a full refund or a new set but they refuse to. these are the following problems i encountered:

• Unable to end call.
• loud distortion sound heard by e other party when pick up programs end by itself when switching to other applications.
• Volume of the normal profile was set to max. But when switched to silent mode and back to normal mode again, the volume was very soft even though the settings show that the volume was set to max.
• not reading network status after soft reset.
• volume of the loud speaker fluctuate during calls.
• upon picking up a call with the receiver, the volume was very soft even though the volume was set to max. Have to press the increase volume button several times before the volume is loud enough to hear what the person in phone is saying.
• after doing soft reset, last sent message was not found in sent items.
• when message icon was selected, and after selecting 'text message', it shows 'today' screen and have to select message button again in order to type and send message.
• when pressing the centre button or qwerty “enter” button, it will be hold onto when it is not.
• After wireless is on, Bluetooth headset got disconnected after awhile.
• Turn on by itself even after turning it to sleeping mode.
• When tapped on messages or office documents, selected messages or office documents was highlighted instead of opening.
• After finishing a phone call, the backlight goes off and stays off and I cannot access the Start menu. I can access all other functions but backlight stays off and one still can’t get into the Start menu from anywhere on the screen. I have to press the power off button quickly once and then wait a second, press it again to be able to access the start button or the light to come on.
• Qwerty do not respond sometimes. Need to press several several times to type.
• when wifi was already on, the status shows it as off.
• suddenly got no reception in open area and will have to wait for several minutes before having reception.
• phone calls ended by itself.
• loud speaker gives off a buzzing sound after ending a phone call using loud speaker.

in conclusion, do not buy o2 zinc. and also do not buy any o2 products in future. i am currently waiting for the release of sony ericsson x1((hopefully it comes with a video driver) and htc raphael(hopefully it comes with a video driver) and i'm going to trade in my zinc. if x1 and htc raphael doesnt comes with a proper video driver then i'll go for imate ultimate 9502. hope what i encountered do help you to make a better choice. :)

Hello sir,

I have a o2 Xda zinc which i bought from thailand recently. but i am not finding new options in the PDA.

1. How to comy contacts from sim to O2
2. How to backup the doc and important info to the memory card.


I was using XDA II mini before and to upgrade my self no i am in trouble to find those options.

Please advice me.

my o2 xda zinc does not work well using internet sharing via usb. it is only good in internet using the unit thru 3g and wifi. i think it is good as pocket pc but combined with a phone feature you can encounter problems.

hi guys ,
i bought this pda phone just a couple of months and i encounter some prob .it hangs and the battery gets very hot i dont know why its happening what i do is just remove and put back the battery and turns it on secon d thing is i gave it to my wife in italy and we found out that the sim card she's using doesn't work in this phone ..pls advise me what we acn do.thanks.

Agree with many others, very disappointing for the price. I must constantly check the device is not in "hang" mode which happens frequently and renders telephone inoperable.

I am the die-hard fan of O2 Product. I own Xphone, Xphone IIm , O2 Mini, O2 Stealth. Now using Zinc for about a month. I do not encounter hanging problem like some of the user mentioned.

I log-on to my home network and hot-spot through wi-fi, no problem at all.

I using fontpatch for wm6 and the ZTA4 Chinese input software . Work very well. http://www.trendsmobile.com/main/showsection .asp?SectionID=277&ParentID=255

Through my experience, the O2 program namely O2 plus, O2 Phone plus, SMS plus , O2 auto install program work well. I do not need other 3rd party software which do the same thing. Save $$$
