ive said it before and im saying it again... samsung have really screwed up the jelly bean update for this phone... i have purchased a new battery and tried... the battery drain and lagginess is still there... standby time is okay... but while using the device the screen consumes a lot of battery as i have checked from the battery option in settings... it shows 63% for screen alone... my opinion is dont install 4.1.2... better wait for another update... and samsung if you are reading this... please do something... thanks...
using 4.1.2 india rom... in india on idea network... and new battery costs 1599 for original and 1500 for duplicate...

BLACK CLIPPING.

I was using Micromax A110 before buying this note. Phone was very good at playing all the videos(720p) superbly but battery and viewing angles are bad, only due to that reason i purchased this note. watching videos in note is pathetic sometimes. I'm really regretting by buying my MMX A110 over purchasing this note.

Just to get rid of black clipping issue i downgraded my note to gingerbread(through odin) to test but the results are same no any changes. Again i installed ICS. After this i was waiting for JB(india) hoping that Samsung will release fix for this in JB but sadly they didn't. Again googling on this issue i found that some one saying by custom kernel(speedmod) has fix for this, even i tried that again same result same problem no any impact. Again back to official JB.

This issue seems to be an a serious hardware problem. How Samsung can release these kind of mobiles with bigger price range?

At least i need to be very careful before spending more money on mobiles.

Can anyone please help me with updating my phone…I purchased my phone in malaysia and i am currently staying in India..According to the sammobile firmware news JB 4.1.2 is released on Mar 26th 2013 in mlaysia…I still didn’t get the update..When i am trying to search for an update through OTA, it is indicating no update available….

JB 4.1.2 is available in all samsung service centres in chennai.It's great, JB 4.2 has been released for NOTE 2 and s3.
So the reason for delay for release is all the dealers in India must have told samsung not to release it for NOTE, as NOTE 2 , which is 10k MORE in price will not sell.
Now as 4.2 has been released for NOTE 2 , its sales won't be affected by release of 4.1.2 for NOTE.

Wow Update to 4.1.2 thru Kies,(India)
It takes around 1 to 2 hrs to get update (depends on Internet speed)

Hello, my galaxy note is running on custom rom and need to unroot to stock Indian jelly bean update.Plz help with steps as im a newbie.The details are

Rom:- Ultimate N7000 XXLSC Jelly bean 4.1.2 V5.1
Kernel:- 3.0.31-593490

im using now german firmware..
and indian firmware is downloading...
so tell me which is better firmware..
and why battery drain soo soo fast...
and black clipping prob is also there..
is this prob solve in indian jb firmware or not??

I'm from India and I got my GN's firmware upgraded to 4.1.2 through Samsung service center. I don't have any problems other than battery drain, phone is very fast/smooth compared to GB and ICS. In ICS there was lag in opening contacts and dialer but that has gone in JB.
