> In reply to Anonymous @ from HHHH - click to readYou would not say Omnia is the best if you had HTCs Touch HD or Touch Pro 2. They are much nicer to use and I think the Pre will be too. Does Omnia support flash like the Pre will? I dont think so!

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-05-30 18:00 from nbuy - click to readHmm... you don't listen to the man.. Huge memory, bigger keyboard and better camera (BTW I hear Pre's camera is wicked - great quality pictures - if you need something even better, why buy a phone then?) doesn't interest him...
On the other hand, what I can tell is if you have some medical application that worked on Palm OS (I've heard of one) then I believe it will work on Palm Pre. You'll just need to get an application called Classic - which is really an emulator for older Palm OS, in which you should be able to run thousands of old Palm OS applications: http://www.motionapps.com/classic/.
Honestly don't know about medical apps for iPhone.
As for the internet, they both provide pretty much the best you can get for browsing the internet on such a small device. Both base their browsers on the same open source technologies but have it implemented in slightly different ways...
Music. What I know you can do with Pre, regarding to music: buy it from Amazon music, sync it from iTunes and simply copy paste from your computer, like you'd do on a USB device.
iPhone, I'm sure syncs with iTunes but other than that I'm not sure what it can do...
Also, Pre's OS is much more thought out regarding interruption (notifications) and multi-tasking so you should have a lot better experience with it. I know iPhone's notification system lacks but I don't know how it is regarding listening to music. I heard you can't simultaneously listen to the music and use other applications. I can't believe that. My ages old Treo on 1990s PalmOS could do that and Pre will certainly be able to do that. Hope I helped a bit! :)

> In reply to Bunyip @ 2009-05-31 01:05 from ji{R - click to readYou know, it's all about preferences (and the overall package - I'm not buying just a big screen or just a big USB stick, you know). N97 or Touch Pro 2 doesn't move my boat a bit. And I'm European! ;) BTW, I would say, looking at the specs that N97 or Touch Pro 2 are more American than Pre - they are more powered, just like American cars, yet European cars, having smaller engines, still have same or more power...

Which you should ask Garmin. ;)
But it's got a GPS so there should be more GPS apps other than Google Maps available in the near future.

Sure, it could be better, but it's not too bad either...

Why is this phone rated so high? The screen is tiny, memory is small etc. Personally the iphone (to be released soon) the nokia n97 the htc touch pro 2 and the idou all kill this phone. Plus its ugly as dogs balls. Must be an american thing.

Specs suck! Nothing new or impressive... even the OS is a copy of iphone! (Which also sucks!)

There is a leaked document on the net that has all of the official specs on the pre. It says the battery life is 4-5 hours, which is sad. I've been waiting for the pre since it has been announced and now this low blow. Why wouldn't Palm think to up the ante on the battery?? I hope the performance is better. No wonder they were so hush hush on it...
