Hi all
I am just about to send my 4th 750 treo back as the ear piece has gone. AS i mentioned this is my 4th treo and i will never be having another 1. I am now going to nokia n95. The problems i have been having are quite common or so i have ben told. I live in the uk and i cannot turn 3g off on the pda. This makes dropping calls very common. The touch screen went on another. The ear piece on this 1. The biggest problem i have found is that the standby and talk times are over stated by the makers. According to them it should last upto 4 hours talking and a lot more on standby. I have found talk time is normally about 2 hours max(using a bluetooth headset) and standby about 36 hours. So extremely disappointed with the phone. These are only my findings based on my time of having a 750 treo. Others may be luckier than me. Other than these serious problems the phone is great.

This is the second 750 I have had and this one is going back. This phone appears unrelieable and unstabel. I am a heavy business user of the phone and has used it on two networks in Australia. like many of these PDA phones they do not live up to the promise.

Hi Diego, you can add an wifi miniSD card (Spectec SDIO miniSD wifi card), that's widely available at Ebay. I've read some reviews that give good ratings to the card performance. I have this Treo, that's the only thing I think it misses is the wifi thing. And soon I'll get one of these cards.

Just bought a Palm 750 yesterday after toying around with the idea for a while but once they announced the wm6 upgrade; it was a done deal.
To answer a few questions posted here:
1) Yes it uses Active Sync (love it!)
2) It's extremely responsive for a device that manages your phone calls and pda functions.
3) Imho. Forget the N95 (nokia still have not managed to combine phone & pda smoothly), even the gps functionality sucks! If you want a nokia phone with decent internal gps get the 6110 navigator.
4) Only downside, no wifi.
Cheers!

Hi,
I am tossing up between the palm treo 680 750 or nokia N95. I am in Australia. My partner say's i am an idiot for wanting the palm because if i want a pda i should just buy a pda and phones that are both are no good. He swears by the n95 but i have seen all the problems that people are having with them (including him) can you please advise me :)

yep, it's going back. shoulda gone with palm OS. windows should stick to PCs. Palm was around for a long time and it's not going anywhere. gonna get the 680. i think the only difference in 680 and 650 is they shed the antenna. keyboard on 750 is weird, gotta use keyboard even when using stylus to message as the ?? and !! are on keys, not on touchpad...a non-issue. i'm hoping the 680 works for me. i plan on it being my one-stop-shop for phone, downloading my med book on it for ER use, ER suite should be a blessing. wish me luck! ciao

To anwer everyone 's questions:
If you want to upgrade the Treo 750 to WM6 go to the Palm web site or go to the best web site for Pocket PC and Smart Phone in the world IMO
www.xda-developers.com
Here at this web site you can upgrade your phone for free and learn to unlock it and learn to modify and custom it with softwares.
The other person asked me if they should get the Sony Ericson or Nokia or Palm Treo750. My opinion if you only want a smart phone with full keyboard and do basic email and web and make phone calls then go with Sony Ericson or Nokia. All Pocket PC with Windows Mobile are more superios because of the availablity of softwares and upgrades but the down size is you have to know what you are doing. Anyway for example Im not even sure if you can watch you tube with the Ericson and Nokia smart phones because of their browser. There is way you can watch you tube with your Treo 750 and TV and millions of other things.
If you want to email just click on the envelope icon at the end of this post.

joseph, yes, this phone does have the digital keyboard that Palm users are familiat with. You can even choose the "Large Keys" or "Small Keys" option for this digital keyboard. The Large Keys gives you larger keys, but at the expense of having less keys to choose from. The Small Keys makes the keys a bit smaller, but can fit more keys on the keyboard so you don't have to switch between alpha and numeric.

at first i was overwhelmed but right now im having the same problem as almost everone else in the palm forum is having. after less than two months of use, the touchscreen is not working anymore even after doing the soft reset, hard rest andd calibration stuff. very frustrating because this has been a known issue with the only solution provided is having the unit replaced.

Hi Jefri, I got a 750 through Telstra, on the Next G network. It ran well, was able to get a web connection of around 3mbps, but the coverage was poor so ported to Vodafone. Because it was Telstra brand, couldn't use full potential of the HSDPA with Voda, and after a while WM5.0 got a bit sluggish. Recently found an unbranded bootleg upgrade to WM6.0(only because Telstra and Palm won't get off their butts and sort out an official upgrade). Now, with the upgrade it runs super quick, I can get online on it with HSDPA capabilities again and there is no network branding whatsoever. Awesome unit!
