help me please
Nice phone but the keyguard renders it useless. You need to press the button 3 times to set the keyguard and only twice to unset it. I have made so many calls and wasted so much credit that I don't use the phoneo anymore. Got in trouble for 911 calls too. Pity!
my phone is g15m,is there somebody help me to maximize my messagetone and ringtone? plzzzzzzzzz....help me coz its very low to hear.
Panasonic g51m,is very much good in terms of size, but the ringtone and message tone on this phone cannot here essilly........hope anyone can help me to maximize the said problem on this phone..
My experience with this phone has been very good, although troubled along the way. I bought it in April 2005, used for a while, loved it, until one day I downloaded a wallpaper from the Panasonic OFFICIAL website (what was I thinking?!? :) ), and the phone froze permanently. It took me months sifting through the Internet to get the right cable and software to flash it (thank the lord for the russian mafia). After that, it's been working great again.
Its size is obviously the phone's best feature. I'll pick a bone with all the cell phone manufacturers and mainly their users who demand the phones nowadays to have stupid cameras built-in, which prevents them from getting this small. In this sense, the G50/51x family seem to be the last of this kind, unfortunately.
Other than that, the phone's internet browser is also quite decent. And the ability to play true tones is quite cool.
Reception is quite good, SUPERIOR (that's right, you read it right, SUPERIOR) to Nokia's and Motorola's (I had a few phones from both brands on the very same network - T-Mobile GSM in the US and none of them had better reception that this little fella).
First and foremost, as others have well put: the battery sucks. From the start, the standby time was around 48 to 72 hours (with no wap browsing, no ringing from incoming calls, no vibrating alerts or anything that might consume extra power). Talk time is somewhere between 60 and 90 minutes. Also, if you're going into areas that don't have service (such as basements) remember to turn off the phone, because it will start searching for all network types and ranges, and that wastes a LOT of battery power.
Other minor problems: no phone management software from Panasonic, which sucks, and the handsfree feature doesn't work very well (I believe the sound loops from the speaker to the mic, causing all sorts of problems).
The matter of durability that was mentioned in this forum is very relative. Cell phones are not supposed to be dropped anyway. Still, you can feel that the G51m is a bit fragile, maybe more so than some Nokias and Motos. But still, it's also very much less expensive, it costs at least half of the price of the other phones, maybe even less. So if it breaks after some time, buy a new one and you're still on the plus side...
I brought this phone second hand and its a really great phone. There are only two things that really annoy me and thats the message alert tone is really really quiet and I couldn't get it to go any louder. The other thing is that the key guard lock was pretty pathetic it would always unlock in my handbag. Apart from those two minor things, this phone is really cool. the sound quality is the best.
I have a question about this phone. I currently have the G51M and my melody composer is not working.. whenever i try to use the composer it says "not done". I was wondering if someone can help me with this? thanks alot

i just bought a g51m and even after i insert my sim card it keeps asking to insert sim card. i can still make and receive calls but, i cannot access menu or any other features-it shows on the screen "phonecode locked". please help!!!!
bought this in december 2004... as of july 2005, it is currently broken. i'm now in the process of finding a new phone.
it was fun while it lasted, but some things i didn't like about it include it's speed, battery life, and ear piece. The phone had a terriblely slow response when pusing buttons, the battery lasted long in the beginning, true to the 2hr talk time, but after a few charges, it started to decrease. last time i used it, the battery lasted only 30 or so mins and i had to recharge it daily even when only in standby. The earpiece would not work. The plug on the phone sucks and never worked properly from the start.
the one good thing about this phone was the reception. one of the best when the phone worked.
things that broke:
backlight does not turn on
has a poor time finding a carrier
terrible battery life
charger port is very flimsy and does not stick to the phone well
recommendations: don't waste your money on this unless you plan to take extream care when handeling. took a few light drops, but it's dead now. Not nearly as durable as a nokia.
ive bought this phone from new york a year ago,and it works perfectly.the only problem is i dont know how to do the wap settings.its saying theres an error.can someone email me,please?
ive bought this phone from china a year ago,and it works perfectly, with vodafone irl.the only problem is i dont know how to do the wap settings.its saying theres an error.can someone email me,please?
I had tried to download wallpapers using GPRS to my phone,it is indicated that the wallpaper is downloaded and saved, but when I open my picture folder in the download I find message "no pictures" when I checked my memory status it is indicating 77 KB used I do not have any downloaded ringtones as well as melody composer is also empty.what is occupying the memory and how to fix this problem?
If you're going for looks, yes, this is the phone to get. It's cute and small. It's user friendly, and has the basic features that all phones have. One major problem about it is the volume of the other party when using the phone. It's hard to hear, even if you set it at the loudest. Basically to enjoy a normal conversation, you would need an environment to be complete silence. I found it quite annoying, I am no longer using it.
Can you tell me some cool stuf I can do on this mobile?
My best phone.
I am not englesh, because that my english is not perfect. Sorry. But i can tell you that if you think to buy this phone, you shud.
I loved it. In first it vas a lithel small, but then you gett to like his lithel body.
BUY IT !!!
this phone is the BEST!!!i personally have one, and its great may not have a camera and all those other things, but it serves its purpose, and i think and hope that they will not discontinue this line of making a phone like this...i have had soo many compliments for this phone, u can put it anywhere, u can hear great when u are talking with someone , all the best i LOVE IT....
I bought this phone when it very first came out. Ever since then, I have purchased 2 more for my friends. I love the phone and like everything about it. It could use a few more colors but even at the amount of colors it has, it is pretty clear. I think it is very unique and always an eyecatcher. Have not had any of my 3 phones freeze up and have not had problems with battery life. I did at first have difficulties with the WAP configuration but figured it all out with the aid of my cellular provider, AT&T and Cingular. Definitely would recommend to people who want a unique phone with a small price tag. Doesn't have the top-of-the-line features, but you can't expect to get the best phone for under $100.
