I bought this phone just over a year ago and have expeience static problems from the start panasonic (aust) replaced the flip top under warranty but the static came back and worse. Have given it back again waiting on outcome. I think the phone is a talking point with people and i liked how the buttons were arranged but do find it extremely hard to read when out in the sunlight due to "mirror" maybe if panasonic had spent more time adjusting the faults it would be a great phone. size is good fits into pockets beautifully. loved it in the beginning now wonder why i have it as it is only good for sending text messages ( and it can send really long ones.)

I've tried to download ringtones but all I get is an exclamation mark flashing on the screen and have no idea of how to actually access the downloaded ringtone. Can anybody help me?

To CHANGE the LANGUAGE from Chinese to English:
Panasonic G70
1. Power on the phone w/Sim Card
2. PRESS MENU key
3. PRESS UP ARROW key four times
4. PRESS MENU key
5. PRESS DOWN ARROW key twice
6. PRESS MENU key twice
7. Select English
But wait, there's yet one more thing that you must to do to get your GD55/G50/G51 to work properly if you are in the U.S.... You must select the right band. Here is how to do to that:
1. Press MENU.
2. Select the left bottom icon.
3. Select Networks.
4. Select Band Select and choose 1900Mhz form the drop down MENU. Be sure to select the 1900Mhz option alone, not any combinations of 1900Mhz/and anything else. Allow 10 seconds for your phone to register your SIM card and you're in business !
this was found at:http://www.celluloco.com/produ...hp?pageid=15
To change the text messaging to English:
While on the screen to write a text message press the 'send' key (the blue key on the left with the telephone icon) and it will change the letters from Chinese to English etc.

This phone is soooo bad!!
I bought it becuase it looked really cool.
BUT the reception is terrible! People on the other end of the line can hardly hear you. The charger is flimsy and has a hard time connecting. And when it is charged the battery doesn't last long.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS PHONE!
I've had this phone less than 6 months and I need to buy a new one, what a waste of money!

I love mine. But what does the button on the front do? Mine flashes white every few seconds, and jingles if I touch it. But what does the button DO? The manual, of course, is in a language I have no hope of decoding.

This phone looks cool, and friends told me that they really liked it. The preformance on the phone plan sucks. It's annoying to change the text messaging from chinese to english, but it's not terrible at all. Also, I never get good service. I never get static as other people have said though. I have Cingular, maybe the phone would be better if I had a different service. I also greatly dislike how the address book works. Other phones organize this much better.

I bought this phone for my wife, it broke in less than one month. The screen went blank and wouldn't light up anymore. Everything still works and we can still dial out and receive calls. However the screen is dark and will not display anything at all (the outside screen which gives you the time and reception etc works fine).
The online vendor (eXpansys.ca) refused to take any responsibilities. I contacted Panasonic Canada they said this is not a product they distribute and told me to contact Panasonic China. Just shipping cost to and from will be as much as the phone itself so I don't think I will send it to China for fixing!
Does anyone know of any ways of fixing this problem? Some of you said you've fixed the G70 a couple times. Do you know where I can send it to (in Canada) for fixing? Thanks alot in advance of any feed back!
