I have a gd87 and the photo quality is out of focus, no matter what settings i change....its sooo pointless it having a camara when no matter what you do the subject of your photo is blurry.
Sometimesit wont wont send texts, and then i have to retype the whole text again as it doesnt keep what you typed in its memory.
Keep having to flick through character sets just to put numbers in a txt is annoying.
I dont use anyother features on it... phone book is way to fancy for my needs.... i just want long names and phone numbers..and possibly streetaddress.

i have had my GD88 for 3 years now and it still serves me its purpose. i can send sms and mms and make and take calls! if anyone wants something more fancy then go ahead and but the latest phone. lives of cellular phones depend partly on the handling of the owner. it is just sad that it doesnt have bluetooth.
thanks for reading!

Please, do not buy this phone. I implore you. When I first got it, I loved it. It was the most advanced cell phone out of all of my friends. Then, slowly it started lagging; there would be a 3 second delay when you used the keys. Then reception would just simply dropped out, where it had worked fine before with my previous phone. And, the battery now barely lasts the day, if I forget to charge it over night, it won't even last through out the morning.
DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!!!

This was my first phone.... it was fantastic!! Great battery, good screen, everything I needed when I was about 15!! 6280 now.... much better (great actually!) but I miss the cool zippo-esque sound it made when you opened/ closed it!! Just bein sentimental....

the GD87 is not a video phone. firstly it has no sufficient memory for the phone ~1MB and secondly the camera lens is not a video lens. The closest thing to video you can have in this phone is animated Gifs which will play with no sound. or alternatively slideshow in the mms option. hope it helps.

When I first bought this phone, it wouldn't charge or turn on. I took it back to get checked, and they fixed it so then it worked. After 7 months, it stopped working again, and I got it fixed under warranty. About 9 months later, it stopped working and I gave up on it. I bought a cheap LG phone to use, and then my phone contract finished a while later, so then I just got a new phone. Maybe it was just a problem with my phone, but I take total care of it - there was only 1 scratch, so I don't think it was a problem with the way I was using it.

The menu on this phone and all the other panasonic phones are so smooth and nice, compeared to others..I have never had a problem with the network, so obvioulsy that has something to do with your network service..

The GD87/88 seems to have as many fans as critics, and both equally sure that they're right... ;-) If you've gotten a good one (meaning no bugs, lemons, fakes) then chances are it's lasted long enough to be considered a good value. For some reason, though, for a long time there was a price premium on this phone that was unjustified (other comparable phones weren't quite so expensive). In any case, considering this was one of the first true 'camera phones', it wasn't just a novelty item, but actually a decent phone in it's own right. The screen, by the way, was and perhaps still is, one of the best out there. What would I change about this phone? Earpiece volume has been often criticized as being too low and hollow. If you live outside major urban areas, the reception might leave something to be desired too. Bluetooth was avaible when this phone came out, but sadly was not included. Would I buy this phone again? Yes, because it has served me well for 4 years, I like the way it looks even today, no significant problems have arisen, and I've put SIM cards into it from Asia, Canada, Europe and the Middle East hassle (and contract) free.
Thanks for reading...

I've had my GD88 since Dec.02 and it's been so reliable. Even through dropping the phone, all software remains sharp. I believe the accessibility of the menus are much easier than the competitors' phones. The camera still holds its quality next to those new overpriced ones on the market.
