I've used this phone for about a year now. Overall it's fine. What I really like about it, is that it's very thin and slips in your front jeans pocket very nicely. Better than the thicker nokias and other phones I've used in that regard.
What I don't like about it? The overall fit and finish is not as good as it could be (not really bad, but not excellent, either). And the charger doesn't always fit securely in the charging port, so charging it can be a challenge. That's a really lame charging port design.

lop off the antenna, it looks better and you really don't need it. I've done this myself and it works fine!

I'm still thinking of buying this unit.i've had panasonic cellphones since it started in our country.I like panasonic mainly because its durability unit-wise.if you drop it it's still intact unlike some units/brands.no complains whatsoever with its usefulness..becuase it is useful.others may complain of its short battery life..but have you considered the life-span of your battery..maybe its been a year already sincec you've bought your unit...definitely you have to have it change already. Thanks Panasonic!

Dear Nataly,
I had the same problem untill I discovered "the secret".All you have to do is long(1-2 seconds)press the central key. Then the question "Would you like to lock keypad?" appears and you have to press again to lock it.

Those with battery problems please let your phone entirely die of thirst first :) - this means let the charge go all the way down and wait like 15 minutes until the trying to power on the phone works no more... then with the phone OFF start charging until you see CHARGED or CHARGING DONE... you know what I mean.... then take out the battery to demagnetize, put it back in and you are supposed to have a full charge for 3-4 days... Also remember that Panasonic batteries are notoriously known as CRAPO-BATTERIES-REPLACE-ME-SOON!!! generic batteries do a better job and they only go for a few bucks anywhere... even on eBay...

when you try activating the camera the softare will try to open the len to the light first, then balance it, then show the preview and then will let you capture pictures or video... this happens in like 3 or 4 seconds but your phone is stopping in the step one since the hardware is not responding due to bad software... so it hangs!... the rest of the phone might work fine...

Hey BIM!,
your camera is fine! - but the software is bad, I have seen this problem before due to PANASONIC mass-programming theor phones so at least one- to ten will go through what you are going through - PANASONIC response is send the phone to your nearest Panasonic-Matsushita store to get it fix (just re-flashed that is though)... it all depends where aou got it from and where in the world you are...

Quite disappointed with this phone. I could charge it all night [only takes 4hours to fully charge] and then text hardout for 4 hours and then it DIES! Really unhelpful especially when you're out on the road all day and it dies on you.. at first I thought it was my phone, didn't know it happened to everyone else.

Well, unfortunatelly I'm not really pleased with this one.I've found it too expensive compared to what it can do.The battery only lasts for 2 days (maximum!)and I don't think it's very handy to type a sms...I'm very disappointed and I regret that I've bought it.

Hmmm. On first glance you would think that this would be a good phone, but don't be fooled. This thing is a DOG. The battery life is very short (around 2 days and then drops off very rapidly after that) Secondly, the connecting unit to charge it dosn't fit properly and concequently it is difficult to charge, and so you will usually wind up "babysitting" it. Thirdly, the graphic user interface is quirky and is hard to navigate through. Finally, sound quality when calling is slightly better than a tin can with a string on it.
The good things about this phone are: that its cheap, its small, and it has a camera on it.
This in mind, you would be much better off with a Panasonic VS2 or even still better of with a Nokia.

Hey, this phone is ok, i know because i have borrowed my firends one at some stages, for road-trips and stuff. However, battery ife is very, very short-lived, and it need quite a few things. I decided to go ditch this one, and went to buy the even better, (for 30 buks more) Panasonic VS2, it has video recording, 1.3 mp cam, and a giant scren, something like 240x???, but its massive, and also, the VS2 also has a scren that displays not 65K, not 256k, but w haopping 16million colours!! with 32 mb memory, and mp3, layer 2 playback, its the best entry level phone ive ever had! they were 200 NZ dollars over here before the christmas of 2005, and are now for some reason 300 NZ Dollars. it features also sonic the hedgehog games in any other country except for NZ, dont know why, just comes with 2 game demo's over here...also, the VS2 is a clam-shell design (flip-top) and it has a automated opening button!! how cool is that? just cruisin down the street, and u want to open ur mobile, just push the side-button, and your away!!
So go look for a Panasonic VS2, not a x200, they are only 30 buks more, (normay) and are worth the extra doars!!

this is my third panasonic mobile phone. sad to say it doesnt perform quite as good as my last one, the GD75 which had a smart calendar and a very useful toggle button. i replaced it with the x200 coz i opted for modern looks n function. i.e. camera, which i like very much over the other popular brands. unfortunately, the same problem i hed with my gd75 exists with my x200. the travel charger doesnt connect properly and securely to the phone's charging port. a very big downside.

This phone is phat, it looks like the next gen slimline 3g phones, and even those with better phones are jealous because my phone is effortlessly cool. Not too flashy, but still snazy, and stylish. as far as technical issues go, ya get what you pay 4 i got this phone from a dealer US$80.00 absolute bargain if u ask me. txt lag? ur a freak, i have no problems with it good cheapo phone!

This phone is very thin and very light. People say "oooh look at your phone" when they see it. As I am not an eleven-year-old girl this is of little consolation. The battery lasts 2 days and dies suddenly. Buttons are poorly positioned and unresponsive. There is an annoying lag when texting. Speakerphone is so quiet you still need to hold the phone to your ear and everything takes ages to process. I hate this phone. The light weight is pointless if you have to carry a stress ball to counteract the frustration. I thought I'd get a reasonable standard considering the price of the product. I was wrong. I'd rather have an extra gram in my pocket and buy a Nokia, made to be efficienct rather than impressive to eleven-year-old girls.
