Well I bought one of these camera phones from Virgin Megastore in July 04 and took it back the next day.
Reviews said it had a metal case it was silver plastic like toy plastic.
Keys looked good.
Texting is really bad and you cant add to the T9 dictionary which means switching in and out of texting modes which slows texting down.
The Camera is absolute rubbish being a Cif camera worse than a Siemens MC 60 Camera and that is rubbish too.
The display may well have been ok if you could have got external photos in but you cant no irda and no bluetooth and philips dont supply the cables.
Java should have been on instead they put the manky games engine called infusio and you can only have one if you get bored you must pay for another unless you can find a way to store them on a computer.
You need a cable there is no cable the best place for this phone is your local refuse crusher.
Just as bad as the Fisio range.
One saving grace is if you buy it from Virgin you get 28 days to pull your hair out and when your bald you can take it back to them and ask for another phone or your money back.
I wouldnt pay for it in the first place.
South road lads.

I've just recently aquired the Philips 355 Mobile Handset on the Virgin Network, for £90.00 (GBP). But that INCLUDED £30's worth of Airtime Vouchers, on top of the £5 already supplied in the 'get you started' pack, so the basic Handset is around £55.00 Not too bad for a Camera Phone. I can't say too much as yet, only having it for less than 24 hours. The one thing I am a little dissapointed with, is the lack of a BLUETOOTH and/or INFRARED connectivity feature. This means there is no way to send your pics to your PC.
I like the small compact size, but after having used Nokia Handsets for a long while, Philips are going to take a little bit of getting used to.
There is a wide choice of POLYPHONIC Ringtones to choose from. Marks out of 10 so far......6

Hi all,
The more I use my 355, the more I am getting addicted to the small wonder from Philips! Thanks Tejal for the info you have given me. I think the possesion of the data cable is going to fulfill all my desires.
Go ahead everybody...it will certainly be a new experience for all.

Hi, I just bought a 355. Its awesome. The picture quality is very very good. Other features remain unchanged from that of 350, only GIF files are supported in 355. The sound level for ringtones is a bit low for a country like India and one has to put on the vibrator mode while travelling in crowded buses, metros etc. Think of the price-benefit ratio....anyone can do without a high sound (noise!) level. Kudos to the new version at the given price tag.
Thank you Philips.
