Not just those, all of the Nokia phones run on Philips chips as well.

This phone is great, but they'd better realease it soon or they'll miss the boat.

To anniyan:

All the chips in the samsung D500, D600 and so on are provided by Philips (semiconductors). Also the SonyEricsson P910/SE Z800 are powered by Philips chips. So many of todays hottest phones are using Philips chips, the only thing Samsung and SE do is creating software and a cool package, the real hardware is designed by Philips ;)

If it's a 'DIRECT' copy of the D500 then why does it have a better camera, screen and have an expansion slot? I think you mean the D600......

I always knew that Philip Phones were a copy This phone is a 'DIRECT' Carbon Copy of Samsung D-500 model, which was this years GSM awards winner. Philips should stick to their TV's and Microwaves and leave the Mobile Phone industry to the professionals like Nokia, Motorola Ect.

Philips high-end model for 2005 (In Europe where all models aren't available like 766,868,968).
Great but Philips often is too slow for release models.
Nokia 6280 cominf soon. Please Philips, release the 960 shortly. I want it (September will be great !)

Philips 968 has a 240 x 320 display, as announced officially. So if Philips 960 is the high-end or top model from Philips, then its display should be no worse than Philips 968.

To zgodly and duttway, I got the info from a reliable source that Philips 960 is equipped with a 2.0 MP CCD camera.
Finally... a high end phone from Philips (unfortunately no touch-screen).
When will it be available in Indonesia? Can't wait..

VERY Good Phone from Philips. Keep up the good work of giving us affordable and quality phones. Philips was a contender in the mobile phone market and looks like they are really making a come back. Cheers!

By the way, 968 has already been announced in Philips Hong Kong homepage. But 960 is not yet shown.

So if 968 is gonna hit the market in summer holiday, then don't tell me 960 is aimed at Xmas!!!!!!!

I agree too, that radio is not that important when consider buying your new mobile phone. Philips 960 has got all the necessary features. I think reliability is much more important, which is also a bonus feature for Philips. So I myself is also waiting for 960 as well :)

still philips is one step backwards...
