it is flat with strips of keys (as shown in the photos) The backlight cannot be adjusted for the keys but can be adjusted for the screen.

Anyone in the states using this phone? If so, what's the keypad like--is it flat, or is it a designated keypad? Does it have a backlight? (and can it be adjusted?) And where do you get this phone--I can only find one vendor, and it's in Asia. Thx!

Please do not purchase Philips mobile phone, if u want to be happy with a good phone set.
Last year I bought Philips Xenium 9@9r, especially seeing its battery performance in specifications. But, oh my god, what a worst phone set it is !!! battery backup is very shorter then they mentioned. also memory is only 1GB, but they told 2GB. the specifications are false. Now I am very shocked with this so called highly featured xenium phone. I quarreled with the vendor here for this.
Better to call it 'Philips Cheatinium'.
Philips cheated with people. I am very upset, I got very shock.
