Two points:
i) In MG&C GmbH QteK 8500 has built-in IrDA Connectivity; Compared with gsmarena's ad,does Infra-red really exist in the phone?.Also(ii) mini SD Slot is the card slot listed. Is this the same as Transflash?
I recognize that this phone is the same as Dopod S300, Why the price disparity? Reply Pls.

If u go on http://www.engadgetmobile.com, they have an article about this fone that before they were gonna call it the 8500, it was gonna be called Qtek Star Trek! How weird is that, naming a fone star trek, does have any similarties to the gadgets of star trek or was a dummy used in star trek, I don't think so!

This is a great initiative to make WM5 OS phones also available in Flip format. Bravo Qtek! Just give us the choice from bar or flip format phones!
Further improvements desired are:
- larger screen (like in Qtek S200)
- Wifi
- Another desin for the keypad
- use standard memory cards (SD or miniSD)
- better Stand-by time
- better camera

According to The Register this smartphone supports 802.11 b and g, more than enough for me!

I think that it has a QVGA interior display, as all the other current Qtek phones with 2,2" lcd displayes feature a QVGA display.
It would have been nice to at least have UMTS and/or WiFi on that phone.
And of course a slightly bigger screen as it looks just tiny in the housing (as seen on image).
