Until we are able to publish full review of the phone we are presenting you some photo and video samples and also some comparison shots to Sony Ericsson K800.

friend i am using a n90 right now and am not very happy with it.
the best feature of this phone is the camera but i hav realised that only the camera is not important. the overall capabilities of the phone matters a lot ....where u can put up a question mark for n90. i am facing major problems in this phone....
1.) no vibration....in open or in highly noisy areas say the road side....it is difficult to knw whether the phone is ringing.
2.) if i set a particular ringing tone in the profile as the default tone....most of the time instead of the tone i hav kept ...it changes back to nokia tone...and when i check the profile...it shows the same tone which i had set earlier as the default tone....i knw u might not understnd wat i m sayin properly.....but my friend i am selling this phone if ny1z interested thn temme m tired of this handset...

If you want to put it in your pocket, the n93 is said to be too large, almost like an m16 bullet magazine.

If not. Why not consider the N93 which has autofocus. N80 doesn't have autofocus and you have to measure the distance manually.

About K800. The joystick is said to only last a year because
SE phone are designed to last a year or so to make the company
profitable.

Or why not wait for the N83 which is said to be 5mp. Or have you tried those samsung models with 10 megapixels?

the problem is the size... they can make it 5mp but if it
can't fit the pocket, what good would it be. The present
N93 only problem is the size is kinda too big to fit in
the pocket. Is this the impression of all users? the best
camaraphone is one small enough and with enough resolution.
That may get us back to the N80 or even N73. N73 has no
wifi. If you go to starbucks. Can you actually use the
wifi internet in your wifi capable nokias? anyone tried
it?

features wise, there is not phone out there that can match this phone yet, and they are rumors of a n83 to be announced with the next nseries wave with a 5mpx camera, looking how fast nokia is progressing wouldn't surprise me really, they would have hit perfection.

For those deciding on nokia N93s, do Sony Ericksson
or Samsung hav models that are above 3 megapixels?
What particular models? I read somewhere that samsung
has a 10 megapixel model in korea.

Also for all digicams. Do they have something like
800x600 30fps video.. or is 640x480 30 fps the maximum
out there. If so, having this inside a nokia camera
is a long time budget and can aid in the decision
and analysis process.

Do u think nokia will make 4-5 megapixel fones? the price
of the N93 is a bit high but if there is no higher end
model, the price would be stable for many months like
the communicator 9600 where the price stays almost the
same in one year compared to say N70 which drops in just
2 months.

Also for those who already own the phone. Can you put it in
the pocket? All my previous phones I put inside the pocket
and want the N93 to do that too.

To Burt Robinson:

Called Nokia Store in Robinson's Place Manila today. The lady over the phone said that N93 was supposed to launch this week but postponed and instead will push through most probably next week. She also said that the price will be around Php42,000.00

Also called Nokia Professional in Festival Mall Alabang. They told me that N93 will definitely launch this month and the price will be somewhere above Php40,000.

Do not bother calling Nokia Careline. I did call them several times to seek information about this matter and they do not know anything definite. They even told me that N93 might launch last week of September which is most unlikely.

I just found out that legitimate local Nokia distributors know better than CSRs from Nokia Careline.

To Tarantula

Thank you for agreeing with me. N93 is very childish to claim that SE phones namely the Walkman series are only for poor people.

That was the only reason that I brought up the price of my P990i.
I dnt know which 3rd world country he's comin from, but he can't go around stating that SE phones are only for poor ppl. Cos that's a joke! He's only embarassing himself. He should not post here.

All i can say from the photo comparison from the newmobile site(the one posted below me) is even though the N93 has quite visible noise when magnified, it appears sharp and the colors are more alive than the K800, while in the case of K800, the picture seems smooth with no visible noise but quite blurry when compared to the forerunner.

dudes, nokia have strong sales in all positions, in the high end, the n70, 6230i, n80 soon joining. midrange well all their new series40 3rd edition. low end well, the budget phones. they don't depend in just one part as sony ericsson in the high end. sony ericsson does poorly in the low end segment. the p990 its overpriced, considering its their strongest phone in benchmarks it loose the nokia S60.
comparing the camera quality i say better read more reviews... because the n93 take better pics than this.

tarantula, agree with you, that was really childish! :)
But still the topic is about n93 and k800, and we can't judge the quality by only a few pics!!!!! Soon there will be more reviews, and I hope gsmarena will make really trustworthy comparison as they did for the n80 and k800!!!

Now all people have expensive phones here!!!! P990, N91, 8800 Aston martin edition, RAZR D&G, etc, etc, etc.

But i am happy with my W800 and i wait for the W950 or W850, now i dont need more because i am happy with it.

I consider the fight between aman and N93 useless, N93 says that only poor people have walkmans, i dont read most childist post never!!! please, only write your opinion about some facts in the review or in general discussion, but say that walkmans is for poor people... is ridiculous!!
You know this: nokia is the first phone maker, and major sales arent with N series, either with E series... its in budget phones that nokia obtains the first place!!

now the conclussion is... i allow to you make your own conclussion

Symbian, this OS is an agreement between various makers for create a common OS, since EPOC time it was the idea. Now exist 3 versions: S60, UiQ and some FOMA phones use a unknown version. Apart of this, each maker have their own OS for only phones, if it is more complicated or not than symbian, it isnt the question here. Symbian is mainly to fight with the world monster: Microsoft, and later linux. This fight would be lost if each maker go with their own OS, this is the reason of S60 and UiQ existence, different UI for a diferent type of users.

As Dreadnough says, each company makes their own strategys to the market conquer, each maker has own approach to the users and basically follows your own way with the same end: sell

This forum is deformed with a lot of posts, some of them are interesting, others are amusing and some are annoying. The fact here is the analisys between cameras of two phones, leaving the fact that each one of these devices are from different segments and arent direct competitors
