Apple iPad mini 2 review: Moving up the ranks - read the full textThe iPad mini with Retina screen is everything the little tablet deserved to be – a more compact equal of the bigger iPad with no compromises made. And unfortunately, it’s just one thing short of what we all thought a compact tablet should be – cheap...

i don't understand the people who infinitely emphasising on how overpriced ipad is, it is overpriced, but it's not like it'll make you broke for the coming 50 years if you bought one. LOL.

Coming close to three months since I got the iPad mini, and loving it for games, video and books and magazines,
For those who complain about breakages, then get a case. There are thousands out there, and you can get cheaper equivalents of the official one. I've got one that does everything the official case does and provides adequate protection.
It's replaced my Kindle as e-reader due to the variety of apps available.

I would suggest stay away from any of the new products from apple. If you drop it by accident, the screen will shatter like common house glass, and do not attempt to take it back you will walk away even more disappointed and more angry. Ask me done that got the t-shurt

But the iPad also has 4x3 screen ratio, which for a tablet is way more usable than the 16x10 Android screens.

The iPad is still the best tablet, both in terms of UI and design.

Admittedly the single core performance is slightly better in some benchmarks but with multithreaded apps and games I think I would rather a quad core tegra or snapdragon.

I still don't understand why people buy iPad's. Yes, Apple make quality products, I own a still working iPod touch 2nd gen but they are really overpriced. I'll give an example here (prices are GBP from Amazon UK):
Class 10 MicroSDHC 32GB - £17.12
Class 10 MicroSDHC 64GB - £38.33
(these are from Apple Store UK)
iPad Air 32GB (WiFi only) - £479
iPad Air 64GB (WiFi only) - £559

Why such a big price increase? The MicroSD cards are SanDisk and production memory is cheaper than retail memory. Why a nearly £100 difference for only double storage?

Simple solution, get a decent android tablet (not a nexus) and stick a 32/64/128GB SD in it (depends on how much it supports). More storage for cheaper and a opensource OS. I'm not even going into the fact than even the cheaper nexus devices have 802.11G,N,AC MIMO rather than just "G,N" (im not sure about 802.11B support but hardly any wifi hotspot outputs 802.11B)

I thought iPad Mini 2 has 326ppi? Apple said it levels to the screen resolution of the iPhone 5S.

Apple has offline maps…..there is a common app on android as well as apple…
- High quality maps stored on the phone
- Works with GPS only, internet is not needed
- Turn-by-Turn voice guided navigation
- Free Updates: maps, premium POIs, speed cams

Link on app store ---tion-all-regions/id585193266

I had tried it on my android phone way back….in airplane mode and navigation worked. Same thin on IOS… won't/don't need internet for turn by turn navigation once u have the offline map.

You think I'm an Apple fan. You also think it might bother me if my iPhone doesn't have offline maps.

Sorry, you're wrong on both counts.
