Equipped with every possible current connectivity features, an autofocus 2 megapixel camera, a second video calls camera, a conventional keypad and a QWERTY keyboard, Memory Stick slot, FM radio with RDS, the latest Symbian 9.1 OS, and last, but not least with a large 2.76" TFT touchscreen with a QVGA (240x320 pixels) resolution it surely made the news for many impatiently waiting fans when it finally hit the market.

Hi K.C.
Also I will have to buy the euro P990i. Pls tell me something about P990i' OS. Does OS run properly? You have any major trouble , while you are using it? Non - EDGE is a major problem for me because We dont have mobile operators which has UMTS only EDGE and GPRS but P990 has no EDGE. but I will buy P990i inspite of without EDGE. Now I have just a doubt about OS. If You have seen any serious problem pls inform me.

Woah! I just bought the p990 for 31k pesos (around 520$). I'm a first timer of the P series but the OS is easy to get into. I used to own a PDA. I chose it over a pda because of the keypad advantage. I find it hard to type an sms (using a touchscreen alone) on the go. That makes me bump to someone while walking. Laughs. The only problem I have is the device's speed, else are good. Go SE! Cheers! World peace.

I believe I've the Euro P990i. I'd like to install Chinese support (either through re-flashing the unit or additional language). Anyone knows where I can get more info about that?

Does P990 support 2GB (or maybe even 4 GB) MS Duo Pro Cards? I have one left from my W800 and if it supports such cards I'd buy it.

Long long ago, when P800 came out, the phone was unique with what it had to offer, then P900, updated but disappointed with so few updates and a long wait. Then it comes to P910, a complete waste, same now, P990 is some sort of waste to me, compare to many other PDA fones, the size of this fone is too big, slow, and too expensive. Eventhough I'm a huge fan of SE, since the time of T68i, when every1 were using Nokia 8210, 8310. I had to admit that P990 is rubbish, after I looked, hold and tried to used it for a day... I'd go for Qtek PDas or Motorola A1200, and if it's the qwerty keyboard that you are after, many other PDAs offer better....

I use a O2 Atom. Before that I used a Palm T3 along with a Nokia 6230i. I bought the Atom becuase I found I used to forget my T3 but did not forget my phone. So I figured if my phone has a PDA i would have only one gadget to look after.

The Atom took a while to get used to. parrlty becuase the initial ROM was not good, partly becuase i was not a windows user and needed a learning curve and partly becuase the Atom was very slow esp the camera.

Now I considering the P990 why?
a) I found I need tactile numeric keppad. Dialing with a touch screen require too much attention
b) becuase I want something more stable than the Atom and
c) The Atom's software has a few niggles that make for cumbersome usage (I dont want to go into details here as this is not really a Atom thread).

Q: Is the P990 the only PDA-phone that has a tactile keyboard and has a stable OS? What non-wondows (Qtek, Eten, etc...) atlernates are there? Any of these alternates under 150gms?
